Just finished Band of Brothers (that the series was based on of course) and went on to read D-Day by the same author (whose name I've forgotten argh!).

Good reads, some funny tales amongst all the horror.

Just finished reading The Stars Tennis Balls - Stephen Fry.

Great book and a worthwhile read although the first few chapters are a bit slow.

Just starting The Sword Of Shinara - Terry Brooks as im sick of getting pestered by my parents to read it.

only trouble I had with Feist is that when I lent a few of his books out the troubles I had getting them back lol.

I've read that, not sure I 'got' it but still enjoyed it. I'd recommend the dubliners by Joyce(which is nothing like catcher. :D )

Yeah it does pick up... well... you also get used to Peake's style after a while and get hooked on the story :) Sometimes though he writes amazingly, really good at conveying a sense of scale and wonder sometimes - I remember the bit where Steerpike first climbs out onto the roof of Ghormengahst and describes this city-sized castle stretched out which, even though he's lived in it all his life he's never before realised how enourmous it was :)

CoMC is quite good too. I also have The Man in the Iron Mask.

The sum of All Fears - Tom Clancy, fairly good book
2010 - Arthur C Clarke, liked it :)
Jack Higgins book, can't remember the title :(

the only book by Higgens I've ever read is 'Solo' iirc. was an easy, yet good action read.

Closing Time- Joseph Heller. Didnt really like, nowhere near as good as Catch 22.

Currently:
Book one of Wheel Of Time series after being told many many times to read them. Really enjoying it so far.

Next up:
Book 2 of WoT
The Count of Monte Cristo - Dumas
Baudolino - Umberto Eco
Anyone want to choose one for me?


Ive got a stack of books ive yet to read. I cant go into a book shop and not pick up a couple. I hate you Waterstones :mad:
