I have recently been ripped off for quite a sum of money by someone ordering an MP weapon per retry who then pulled out of the deal when it looked like the retry count was getting too high and got them from another crafter (or so he says). Basically he wanted a fixed cost MP and had his notions of what they should cost but when it looked like the per retry was going poorly for him he became extremely difficult to get hold of.
The person involved thought that every 50 goes an MP appears and also said that the fact that I relogged (actually I LDed twice) had reset my MP count (which is one of the crafting myths but I have never seen it have any basis in fact).
I tried hard since Tuesday to get the money from him but it became obvious when he logged when he saw me in Aaild or went on extensive afk periods that he did not want to face the issue, knew he owed me money and did not want to pay it.
Last night I got to chatting to him properly (despite the interuptions of his childish mate) and I even offered to accept money on Alb Prydwen (where this person is from) but he never showed up.
Now he claims he has only 3g and cannot pay me. I said if he had any honour he would give me one of the MP weapons or armour he had until such time he could afford to pay me back (which I strongly suspect he can now anyway).
Anyway, as this person is unguilded I cannot take it up with the GM so am going to post it here as a warning to other crafters. I wish I had asked for a deposit now and maybe you think I am silly that I did not but this is the first person in a lot of crafting who has basically decided he didn't like the price and did a runner. From now on I will be asking for 5 plat deposits for MP weapon orders (if you havent got at least that you should not be ordering a per retry MP which are the only ones I do).
The person's name is Wraythe and he is an unguilded low 40s Lurikeen Ranger. He is often seen in Aalid wearing a green cloak but no armour (probably being powerlevelled). His childish mate is Apache (Celt Ranger).
Posting on here now will probably mean I will not get the money (although I doubt I will anyway) so any other crafters dealing with this person please either ask for a substantial deposit or ignore him.
