I may do another round of emailing tonight but if not it will be tomorrow morning. Just make sure you are a member of the group detailed in the first post of this thread.....

Nice initiative.
Secured my OB code through premium partner, so no need for me, but nice that some of those not fortunate enough to have a code reserved for them through retailers also has a chance to get some beta keys!

Personally i don't think it's all that nice, i think it's a bit out of order on the part of goa/mythic, they secured thousands of pre-order sales on the strength of having early access and open beta access garunteed, now they're just giving out thousands of codes to various forums to give to thier members.
A lot of people payed the extra for the collectors edition pre-order because of these extra bits and now people who haven't pre-ordered and haven't payed the extra are getting access, typical goa/mythic 'they're only customers they don't matter' attitude.

The Beta-Servers get wiped anyway, so I don't think that's selling point nr. 1 for the pre-orders - the headstart is imo. The more people to stress test the servers, the better Mythic can improve and fix things to make sure all will go well on release, when the real crowd is storming the servers.
That's just my (not-in-beta-yet-so-I-want-a-key-biased) opinion

I agree to a point, however the collectors edition was to get guaranteed access to open beta whereas this is pot luck really. Also you're getting other extras in the box?

Yeah well, that aint the best one tbh, it goes with a speed of 5kb/s, I usualy go for atleast 500kb/s up to 2mb/s. So that is just awfull, will get the game down 2 weeks after the actual release

It's not the issue of them giving out codes i'm annoyed about really, the more the merrier, the thing that has riled me is that they made the open beta access a selling point and now they're giving them out to people who haven't even pre-ordered the normal version let alone the collectors edition, it just feels underhanded to me.
I see your point, presumably you bought a CE copy. Strategies always change though i guess, these guys are out to make money - if you lose 1 guy but gain 15, most of the time it's a risk your willing to take eh

Don't know about this, but mine went with 600-750(max. for my connection) kb/s

I bought a CE (upgraded from normal version to be precisely) yesterday, but I was to late for that pre-order thingy so no guaranteed beta-key for me - don't ask about the price, it still hurts
