Yeah, because it's that black and white. The miscalculation there is that merely preparing for the eventuality that you might need to defend yourself in the short-medium term future is the same as wanting a war. It's nonsense.

How about if the other side doesn't actually want peace until they've got what they want? Better to just sit around, holding hands, "working towards peace" or maybe better to lay the groundwork in case the shit hits the fan in 5 or 10 years?

Maybe everyone except Russia should do away with their militaries entirely, "work for peace" and see how that pans out.

It won't work, because there's always people (lets call them arseholes) who will plan for war instead.

It's the mentality of a significant proportion of humans. But that mentality is why these things go on longer than they should. If we know we're like that, that's the animal we are, then we should at least take a pragmatic view on closing these down rapidly instead of letting our worst lizard-brain tribal idiocy be the ruling thought process.

At least we can acknowledge that there are different ways to view conflicts - other than the default retard warmonger's point of view.

We continue to be at war in Ukraine because we want to be at war. And we don't really care how many millions of deaths it costs - especially because we're not bearing those costs.

Edit: I notice you've not paid any attention to the points raised in that article. Is it emotionally uncomfortable to watch a previously intellectually peaceful country being mentally prepped for a mental change to warmongering arseholes, like the rest of us?

Just to be clear @caLLous - I truly believe that a world without war is actually technically possible. But to get there, first our minds must start taking that journey.

(I don't believe for a second we will get there though. It's possible the majority of the human race have minds capable of it. The bell curve y'see. But it's not impossible, given enough thought in that direction).

I believe this as well, a world without war is easy to achieve, just kill off every human, job done.

More democracy is probably the best tool we have to reduce the likelihood of war. They tend not to start fights with oneanother.
