Not much point talking about it anyway, the election was rigged and no matter whether Bush or Gore got in, the same thing in Iraq would've happened. This is just my opinion, but I strongly believe that they do not control their country, it is the faceless people in between that are pushing the buttons. Bush is just a puppet, maybe they thought he would make a better puppet than Gore, who knows? But the same thing would've happened in Iraq because the middle men were pulling the strings and they saw $$$ and lot's of 'em. Iraq is sitting on a gold mine (not literally of course) and oil means money, money and power. Because in 30-50 years or so when oil is running dry, whoever has the oil, ultimately has the power.
Plus the overall power that comes with a country having trillions of dollars.
The Americans would not want this opportunity to go to the Russians or even worse, the Chinese, or some other super-power, so they jumped on it themselves and made some crazy claims about Weapons-of-mass-destruction. They were going into Iraq, whether the world liked it or not. They had their heart set on oil and that's what they were going to get. And then of course there's Tony Blair, not much to say about him except I think that he wants to be seen as some sort of saviour of Iraq, I think he just wants his name in the history books.

you just have to look at Libea ( a country in anarchy now, which has closer ties to the US than Iraq ever had) to see that they have no oil.
I read in the papers that people are carrying the heads ears and eating hearts of there victims there, that a bunch of children cut open a mother to remove and kill her baby.
This is NOT sensationalizing (sp) but the fact that america have only 160ish troops there while this country is witnessing far greater atrocities that Iraq currently was when they went to war, speeks volumes towards there motives to go to war.
The same can be said also be said in regards to the Isreal /palastine conflict. (americas large population of Jews)

Im sorry, but we (the netherlands) are in western europe and we were one of the founding countries of the NATO and the EU. So either Bush doesnt give a damn to know where a visitor is from and what the history between his country is what the visitors country or he is to dumb to remember such a fact. Both are actual rather stupid as difference between being in easter or western europe is rather important in international diplomacy.
Besides having 2 bad candidats for your presidency is the USA's own fault, assuming both candidats were bad. You should get good candidats for such an important job, even if the job is "only" USA's public face to the world. If your leader is a joke, people will think your country is one too.
