WAR Beta Contest Winners!

I made a new thread for this rather than sticking it in the existing thread as I didn't want it to get lost in the middle of a long discussion.

So, here as promised are the winners from the massive Goa/WHA/Only-WAR/Freddyshouse/WAR-RVR Art and Writing contest!

Before I begin I'd like to say thanks to Garthilk, Fahran, Morg and Jupitus from the participating sites for all their help in organising this. I'd also like to thank all of you who entered. The quality was very high indeed as was the sheer volume of entries and while it made this a very difficult contest to judge, it was a pleasant chore.

So then without further ado, here are the lucky winners, there were 40 prizes on offer, 8 guaranteed for each site and a further 8 in total for ones that we really liked but didn't make the cut.

Now the sharp eyed amongst you will have noticed that there are 44 winning entries and that four of those people have won more than once. The way this will work is that those people - Danny Goggles, Clownst0pper, Valkyria and Jaycen - have each won an additional buddy invite for a friend or relative. I'll explain to them individually how that works once they're in the beta.

What to do if you've won:
If you're one of the talented people who are listed above then I need you please to PM me on the site that you posted your winning entry and with the winning account. I'll need the following info in your PM:

• The email address that you signed up with in the EU beta centre
• The username you selected in the EU beta centre
• An affirmation that you are over 18

I have to agree that it's kinda silly to let people win more than once, but... it's their contest .

Far as i can tell, there were 40 slots, and four extra created for those who won twice. None of you lost out on this one guys. They simply created an extra four slots for good work i think

Should have been an additional 8 beta spots for runners up on all sites. Not an additional 4 for winners friends.

Rules:

• Contest is only open to European residents
• Entrants must be over 18
• All submissions must be your own work and must not have been published elsewhere previously
• You agree that by submitting your entry that Goa has the right to republish it and reuse it however they choose
• There are two categories, stories and art. You may not enter the same category more than once per site.
• No piece may be submitted to more than one site
• To receive your prize you must have an account on the European beta centre (Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning)
• Members of the gaming press or games industry professionals may not enter
• Last date for entries is noon GMT on the 17th March 2008, entries submitted after this time will not be considered
• Judging will take place by a panel of fansite admins and Goa staff across all sites.
• Each site has 8 guaranteed beta spots to give away (four in each category). There are 8 additional beta spots in total for the best runners up.
• In case of any dispute, the decision of the organisers (Goa) is final.

Nothing in there about 4 spots for winners friends. I'm not bothered that I didn't win, im just bothered that the prizes seem to have changed....

There were 40 beta keys to give away. 40 people won one each. Some people who put more work into the contest and submitted several entries that were all worthy of winning a prize have won a beta buddy key in addition to their prize. This is something we run within our beta anyway, we have a story and a screenshot contest and the best from each phase get a buddy key so that a friend, guildmate or relative can join them in the beta.

Nobody has lost out, but some people who did exceptionally well have won a little bonus as a result.

OMG! man, I really thought my chances were so small, I mean, wow... completely speechless... heart racing at a rate of 100/minute I guess (and usually have 60/minute in rest, so that's pretty steep now )

Yeah, honoustly, I had no idea my story was that great... I would like to thank the people that loved my story.

And no worries, I'll most definatly still visit this forum... though don't ask me for NDA protected stuff, since I won't be able to give it to you (at least, if I'm in beta when NDA still is active that is)

Damn, still shocked... this must be the first time EVER I won anything... I'm as happy as a cat with a garden full of catnip!!

also grats to all other winners, and to those who didn't win: your time will come mates, keep hope up... especially now you've seen even a big weirdo like me can win
