Voted for co-op/pvp server, tho home invasion sounds fun, but afaik you have pvp servers for that

sadly true, and as soon as a big force gets through the Border keep, and heads to somewhere like Mularn or Camelot Hills, then all the youngsters will be sliced to bits, and wouldnt be able to get old enough to defend.

Unless they filled the realm with wandering guard patrols, like those in the frontier, then it'd not work. Stealthers sneaking in by the dozen, and spending the weekend camped outside Na Nog's gates would really start to get to people...

have you not noticed the PvP and coop servers are the least populated servers in the US, and PvP pretty much the least in europe too.

Instead of creating "new servers" they should implement all these things on the main servers, would be much more interesting - apart from the "grouping with other realms" i cant quite see how that would work, but home invasion and PvP would work on the main servers.

Agreed. The reason most don't take off is due to leveling to 50 again and the player population, if they maybe even copyed the characters from a main server to one of these 'special' servers it would be so much better.

geharis (american co-op) has about the same population as prydwen. so it's not underpopulated and it's not amazingly overpopulated.

and you guys moan about having to move to a different server i'm sure most people want a co-op but shouldn't we be given the chance to even go on one if we want? i certainly think so.

Doesnt even have to be real home - invasion, but invasion of the housing parts for example, so you would have to fight to get your house back instead of some border keep noone cares about.
You could give the home side the advantage by placing quite tough guards around. This way invasions never really last long, but you have the pleasure to attack and destroy the home of an annoying guild or person...

interesting idea, but i imagine with a home invasion you could attack the housing realms any way.

the only thing you could teach me is how to grab little children shove em in your white van without anyone seeing in 10secs. to be honest i'd rather be sick than have you near me.

back to home invasion : i didn't say home invasion was a bad idea and nor did i say it was a good idea. it's more of an interesting idea and no-one can say what it is like (you) before it's available for us to try. even if they considering trying it.

and as for your opinion on co-op keep em to yourself, no matter what you say can change mine or mose peoples opinions on it, even if you have tried and you know what it's like and you don't like it, thats your opinion. my opinion is that a co-op will be a great change, but i can't judge it till i've tried it.

this would be GREAT if it was to be live on all servers imo. however to those who think home invasion is like camlann/PvP you're wrong. PvP is PvP all over except a very few areas, in all realms.

home invasion is like it is now, and suddenly 4-5 fg enemies steamroll over your area and you and you're realm got a new important mission; kick them out.

basicly its the possibility for pvp always anywhere(or close to), however just not so often.

this would solve alot of frontier zerging(emain, odins), and sometimes occupy(sp?) entire realms for days or maybe even weeks. imagine sieging capital cities for hours!

the main difference here is, camlann is all vs all, where home invasion will never be more than a 3way battle.

Wee, a zerg zerging all over a realm, killing lowbies trying to exp, sounds fanny fantastic, for greif play.

Stelthers will just pray on lowbie exping grounds, unless you start at 50, and its pure pvp from there, the server will fall.

home invasion..might eb interesting but not on the main servers as hib/pryd would get pwned every 5 mins....nor pvp on the main servers..if peopel wanted to play PvP they'd play the PvP servers wouldn't they!?!

co-op sound slike the one i will play the most as i find pve a damn sight more enjoyable than rvr.

Main servers shouldn't be changed...you can't change a service that all these people are already using to provide a 'niche' service to the poeple that think it would be cool, thus driving away all the pople that think 'no that would be stupid' makeing the people that thought 'yeah thats cool' have noone to invade, thus make them stop playing and so on. Maybe a new hybrid server [home invansion and pvp or whatever] but no..not the main servers.

It'd have to be a free choice server that if you wanted to play u can play..not forced on people....DAoC is in enough trouble no need to make it worse with ill thoughtout plans of 'oh yeah that'd
be cool'

All it would mean is a large zerg steamrolling all the level 4's in your realm, while you are helpless. The same as Emain except in your home realm. "imagine sieging capital cities for hours" -- you do not "siege" in DAoC, you camp.

Don't think I'd want them to just arbitrarily change the main servers to PvP tbh...

nah i mean something like a PvP flag, or PvP zones... instead of a seperate server.

if it was implemented as PvP zones you could have say, a "neutral" territory (something DF like.. another multi-realm dungeon/world) where you could group up with members of the enemy realms in a PvP like environment, sure would mean new map areas needed but would not mean a completely new server having to level to 50 all over again...

i know thats not quite the atmosphere thats on the current PvP servers, and it doesnt really fit into the 3-realm-war setup either, but its an alternative that would have worked better for everyone instead of just a few, imo

Theres no reason home-invasion could not be implemented properly and safely (ie. to protect lowbies) on the main servers, i made a post about 9 months ago to this very forum. something along the lines of:

- attacking realm has to take all keeps of enemy realm
- attacking realm has to get through a very heavily defended border keep
if they get through:
- they can only be in the enemy realm for a set period of time (say 1, 2 hrs or so)
- extremely strong guard patrols would defend the main towns + important areas of the map
- low levels would could be non-killable but could not attack etc.

could add a third relic inside the homelands too, would be pretty fun imo
