Not sure if this is the right forum or not, I'm building a 'Web CD' at the moment and the client has given me a 15 minute odd long DVD with a video on it that they want compressing and putting on a the CD.

I have downloaded VirtualDubMod and got it all loaded in, trying to figue out the best codec/size/quality to use. It needs to work on Mac too so cant really use WMV? Also space is an issue, i'll have maybe 100-150Mb spare on the CD once everything else is on it.

Any good tips?

Can you use divx? It's a good codec, no idea about mac support though, and there may be licensing issues. xvid is also a nice codec (and free). At worst you may have to use mpeg2 or such, but the image quality will really suffer if you do that.

Could you not include whatever codec you use on the CD? The xVid Codec is a 620KB installer.
