I want to make a video cd so it will play on my DVD player (TV one). I was wondering if I have an .mpeg or .avi file how do I make the cd? Do I need to convert the file or something?

use TMPGenc to convert your AVIs and non-standard MPEGs into MPEG-1 (VCD) or MPEG-2 (SVCD) format then there are several tools which you can use to convert your mpgs into bin/cue files allowing you to record them straight away.

are some of the more popular ones, I think you can also use Nero to record the mpgs straight to disc.
