After 4 years my trusty gainward gefoece 4 ti600 has kicked the bucket after 1 dragon raid too many. Using onboard graphics at the mo and its difficult browsing the internet even.

Can anyone reccomend a speedy AGP card for someone who is on a low budget, been scouring through the web and come across a ATi radeon 9600 xt 256MB for £50, the reviews seem nice well better than my recently fried geforce did.

Or any other opinions will be welcome :)

My trusty Ti4600 died in February; I went and got a GF7600GS and it's been great.

Erm, shouldn't this thread be in Technical Help...?

7600agp cards seem good, or if you can pickup a cheap 6800gt would be another good option, svart stop helping people and get back to work :)

7600 series is a good option, the 7 series has much better video decode acceleration than the 6800.

Yeah not bad at all. Certainly a lot better than a 4600!
Failing that, someone suggested a 6800GT - you can pick those up second hand for around 40 quid and still offer much bang for buck - but naturally with a new product you're going to have very important warranties :)

Unfortunately you are paying through the nose for AGP hardware - the PCI-e equivelents are far cheaper :/
