Vengeance is opening its doors for a small amount of new members to add to the wealth of talented members it has just now. We are based in the Dagon PVE server. Vengeance is a European guild with most of our members coming from the UK. We are in the process of setting up our guild village. We are all very experienced players from MMOPRG back grounds. Every one of us have been at the top of pvp ranks in WoW, GW and especially DAOC.

We are not a hard core guild who play for most of the day, we enjoy pvping with a mix of pve. We have always been a more pvp orientated guild in our previous MMO's and we will go that way once we hit level 80. We still like to have fun and all have a good sense of humour. We are a mature guild with most members ages ranging from 20-30. We all have jobs or University during the day, so when we log on we like to get straight into the action.

Don't people want allianced fights/ Guild fights in for example the wheete ( sp ) fields of Potain? How can you limit your own gameplay like that, beyond me xD


Anyway, back on topic. VGN always been a nice and well organized bunch of people both in daoc and on WoW, so if your guildless and aiming to do some more serious pvp but with a smaller nummber of people VGN is deffo your cup of tea!

Just to set the record straight. Were not looking to recruit people from other guilds. Vengeance now is different from its time in daoc. There's no prima donna's, no hard core elitist mentality. Only a group of members who enjoy each others company, have a laugh and strive to be a guild that will be recognised and admired by other people on the server.

So if you feel were the sort of guild that you would enjoy being a part of, just go onto our site and make an application. The reason we use this method is that through the years of playing MMO's, the best players for recruiting are always the ones who will take the time to make a good application. As then you know your getting someone who's went to the bother of doing this. rather then someone in game saying "invite me to guild plz!!" and turn out being all the things you don't want.

because i'd rather get the boring pve crap out of the way without some 13 year old corpse camping me when i need to do x quest. would rather be able to pvp in a pvp zone, that's enough for me right now. i enjoyed my time on camlann a lot but i just can't imagine a pvp server in a new game being anything but frustrating. horses for courses i guess.

Exactly.

That's the common problem with guilds "Come in, be like this, must do this!" and yet, nothing to give to the guildmember who gives his time.

I'm helpign you look at your recruiting procedure and improve it.

A "We offer...." section does wonders you know.

And who said anything about running off or getting paid...

From what I understand from the original post they offer players to group/level with and dedicated players at 80 to PvP with as opposed to headless chickens. That's enough of "we offer" .

They want to refresh their experienced ranks with talents.

Well you compare AoC with DAoC.

DAoC was a RVR game. It was balanced around rvr in every aspect of the game, from classes, to scenary, towns you name it.

Making a PvP server in a where you build everything around RvR is obviously not gonna be a perfect solution, far from it and many of you might have played camlann and had a bad experience there.

From lvl 1-64 I have been PKed 2 times, I died all together 17 times. Thats like nothing. So weight that against not beeing able to have any form of unorganized or organized PvP/Clan vs Clan, 6 vs 6, 12 vs 12 ( etc ) in a zone of your preference. I seen so many zones and areas where PvP would be AWESOME, choosing a PvE server when you really wanna PvP is equal to limitations as I see it.

seems like the "pvp" servers are every bit as carebear as the pve server then. so why should anyone roll on it if theres no pvp?

might aswell stay on the pve server.

It might be a GAME designed for pvp, but the pvp SERVER ruleset is FFA and as such it is a potential gank fest. Some players don't want to have to contend with griefers when trying to complete quests.

Not long ago they had problems on the US pvp servers due to players camping lower levels, the devs told them they could not chain-gank players and that it was considered griefing, the players argued that the pvp servers allowed that play and they were only playing to the rules of the server. When some refused to stop chain ganking members of an enemy kos guild they were actually banned as griefers.

It's a bit fubar.

Yeah but, it's what everyone offers. That's my point here.

It just seems that guilds are more then often just pushing for people to be better, while they neglect to show them waht they have to offer besides the "group with the best".

You don't see the point because you don't want to see it.

Play what you like and stop arguing about it, some people like to level their chars in peace and get to know the game without PvP'ing at start for different reasons, some not. Some are interested in end game PvP only and not fucking around with level 5 newbies .

I'd maybe roll on a PvP server, but without a retaliation system and the easy escaping (changing instance) it's pointless for me.

you play pom a broken class atm
you said you won against 4-5lvl higher tank
who would attack you ?
till most ppl ding 80, you cant tell how pvp will be or until funcom get their shit together, cause its pretty obvious the game is unfinished (pve, raids, crafting afaik) loads of exploids as they admited and who knows what else

if you want to compare aoc with any rpg, you can say no class is balanced and everything is situational

and lastly grinding is so crap, i really don't want to keep in mind i can be ganged any time for no reason or logging every time i need to go afk

I've been playing since release(woho, can finally say that ) and you know what? I've got two characters, one at 21 and one at 15. I spent 3 f*cking days in PLAY time on tortage with my first character. 3 f*cking days!
