Using your PS3 as a media server?

Using a DLINK NAS and installed Twonky on it. Can highly recommend it! Just have to run mkv files through mkv2vob

Any news on the divx 7 support for PS3? It's supposed to play mkv files no?

I find I have performance issues (stutter etc) using my wireless net for HDTV... you wise folk think that is normal?

If your PS3 is on wireless then you may experience some stuttering with HD playback.

That said, my wife has it on her laptop and was playing a 720p video. Laptop was on wireless, PS3 is wired and it was still stuttering. Audio was still playing okay, it was as if the video couldn't keep up. She went into the Transcoding options for Video/Mencoder and ticked the box to use both cores of a multi-core CPUs. BAM! Instantly smooth video playback.
It might be worth checking that setting.

Same for me a DNS 323 i think it is and Twonky is a great bit of software.
