usb pen drive incompatabilities with server 2003

Since I upgraded my OS to server 2003 I can't get my usb drive to work Or several other usb(2.0) devices (I have had another of my usb 1 pendrives working fine) that connect as standard external removable storage. I have got the latest infinst for my chipset and have been trawling about looking for solutions to no avail. The same device worked when I had xp pro (with sp2) fine with no fiddling required.

Anyone had similar experiences?

urrmm...I have a mini usb hard drive (40gb)...once that has been inserted, I have to reboot before I can use a standard usb pen drive (xp here)...proof these devices can be arsey
