Lo Folks,

Not my problem this time, but it has me stumped all the same.

My Dad's PC started playing up a couple of days ago, and his desktop became unresponsive - no icons would respond to the mouse, and the right-click menu wouldn't appear. Nothing responded at all in any way - the start menu etc would work ok, as would the desktop icons via the desktop folder in Explorer.

I had a fiddle about to no avail, and now his PC won't let him logon with his password.

It's nothing I've done (I'm 99% sure), so I think it's a symptom of the same problem. The problem is, what the hell's happened?

TIA folks :)

Just out of interest, what was it Sar? Don't worry if he didn't mention it, though, just curious. Glad it's all sorted.

Kind Regards

Haven't a baldy, but it appears something I did worked, as he rebooted again (twice) that night and it started working on the second go.

Oddness, cos I had a look at everything, even his local security policies etc, but nothing looked out of the ordinary.

It's working now, though whether it'll happen again is anybody's guess.

*shrugs*
