Regardless of whether you think he's a cunt, I don't think you can level coward at him - his response after getting his ear shot off showed that the man clearly has fight.

Or he could have said "we're not leaving until the threat is dealt with, I'm not using an aircraft full of crew, staff, and press to be a decoy. Sort it out." That's what a principled leader would have done.
