Yesterday I started to dig up my back garden so I can install a bunker due to Trump vs NATO/Russia/Ukraine/Rest of world. It is going well as I finally managed to break through the ice but then had to stop due to rain.

It's one of the most important documents that the US Government produces - because there are loads of policy amendments and governance that happens off the back of it. And that was my only point - that finally the US has overturned their longstanding "eat carbs" awful dietary advice that has contributed massively to everyone getting fat from 1970 onwards. A massive part of the reason why we went "low fat yoghurt" and replaced fats with sugars in our foods was becuase of official USDA guidance on what "healthy" looks like for America - and the 'western diet' has largely followed that. Whole industries pumping ultraprocessed shit have thrived off the back of it.

So, credit where credit is due - RFK Jr has done a "good thing" (TM). And I don't think the Dems, when they get in, are going to reverse that, do you?

As for the rest of it? Yes, it's a shitshow. But you don't eat vaccines. And frankly, you are what you eat, so even if smallpox comes back because of tin-foil-hattery and magic ivermectin consumption, at least Americans, for the first time in decades, are being advised to eat real food in the right proportions again.

That inverted pyramid - it shows what you should be eating by volume too. Protein and loads of vegetables at the top. Sensible oils and fats. Fruits and nuts in smaller proportions and then a smaller number of whole grains. A little bit of wholegrain breads and stuff.

Make no doubt about it - that's revolutionary. And it'll take decades to see benefits. But this is now what they're going to be teaching kids in schools.

Speaking in "personal responsibility" terms - if we all followed that dietary advice, and cut out all the ultraprocessed shit and all the added sugar - we wouldn't have obese people everywhere, we'd have significantly less incidence of cancer, heart disease and diabetes and the NHS would not be on it's knees. Follow the advice. It's good advice.

But to be even clearer: Vaccines aren't going anywhere, but even if they take a knock because of his asshattery - eating properly is more important for the all round health of the population.

In the US diet is directly implicated in ~20% of deaths, and poor diet is exacerbating in 70% of the top ten causes of fatality.

So yes. This is way more important than his anti-vaxx stance.
