Told you ages ago, and multiple times, and if you knew *anything* about the EU it would be obvious.

But once more: Membership of the EU forbids countries from running non-capitalist economic systems.

Jeremy has to see Britain leave the EU to enact the policies he wants.
It wouldn't prevent anything in Labours last manifesto. You're saying that was just a fig leaf for his real agenda then.

I think the manifesto was fundamentally honest - if they can't make larger structural changes there is plenty they could do within the rules that they believe would be for the better.

Doesn't dampen their ambition to make big structural changes though. I'm not privvy to their ideas (everything is just conspiracy and supposition) but I do think there is need to fundamentally reform our economic system as it's clearly and obviously a driver of increasing inequality and utterly at odds with the basic requirement to preserve the natural world.

If we don't undertake structural reform I think the outlook for the human race is bleak.

So a Scandinavian model is no good?

Talk about a united front, the EU just has to carry on dividing and stuffing the UK on the negotiation table, because of the endless pointless squawking of the remoaners.
Tony Blair needs to fucking die, every single tiresome legal challrnge just puts the ball in the EUs court.

They actually believe we can have a peoples vote for the terms....no...the terms will be based on our strength geographics and our importance, just like any country.

Which I might add is immense in every respect.

Give it thirty years and the continent will be asking us for help to build and defend the fucking 30m high wall across the entire bottom of Europe

There's worsening inequality in the nordic countries, and their environmental model, whilst better than ours, is still desparately inadequate.

I don't think humans want to understand the level of destruction our lifestyles are causing - otherwise this would be font page news ahead of everything else, and the thing we'd most want to talk about.

We're not a clever animal. We're going to document our own downfall and do nothing about it.

Im sorry, you just need to look at Easter Island to see how we can get it right.

Oh hang on.

Not for a minute do z I actually believe the Easter Island myths though...far too much agenda ridden guesswork.

OK. But what has been better?
I see what you're trying to do but I don't accept the argument - that if we've not done something "better" in the past then we shouldn't try something different in the future.

I think it's intellectual cowardice Wij. We can see our system is broken. It's unequal and worsening inequality - but vastly more importantly it's devastating the systems that we rely on to survive and thrive as an animal, and destroying the natural world.

Pointing at the past and going "pick something better if you want to change this" is bullshit. We can clearly see the need for change - and if we're not an idiot species absolutely must try.

I don't think we will though. I'm of the firm opinion we're an idiot species, woefully intellectually equipped to deal with the problems that face us - because the problems that face us wouldn't be difficult to solve if we didn't get in our own way.

The problem is overpopulation and the answer is culling in some way or another.

Where would you start? :)

Agree with scouse, dont know how to fix it, our current system is nicely self perpetuating and seems resistant to change. Suspect it will take some seriously nasty event or disaster to get humanity moving again

I think Israel and/or North Korea will be most effective at withstanding such a drastic change. No doubt.

Ive been to two of them..the first one they had to send out leaflets telling them to smile at the English even if they didnt want to.

When we were offroading in France we had to park outside a government building in the woods to get a pass for the trail.
The organiser told us not to speak because if they hear English they wont give you one.

No one in Britain would be like that with the French.

They mostly dont like us...they dont like themselves tbh.

Heres the website for the manual on how to be nice.

Do you speak touriste ? - Mieux connaître sa clientèle touristique étrangère à Paris

Lmao.

The French love it when you make an effort, what they don't like is little Englanders coming over getting stupidly drunk and trashing places.

I went on holiday every year to France as a kid, the type of stuff that you describe rarely happened, it was the middle class Dutch who were usually the up-tight arseholes, the French tended to be lovely.

But obviously that doesn't fit into your Napoleonic 4th Reich idea.

I think I'll let @caLLous take over here.
