Because deaths are in freefall the media has moved to cases for a story.
We are in the middle of testing...every country has a different approach.
Trump joked we should slow down the testing because the media are making a meal of it.
America still has done very well in covid death rate....so they move on to anything they find.

Even if it's a good source it's to 19th June - basic analysis of the two graphs shows a difference in date range - logarithmic exponential explosion in cases in the first happens during a date period that recorded deaths won't yet happen (about 3 weeks from "get" to "dead").

And that's not "freefall". And deaths lag behind cases. The biggest medical centre in the world's ICU is at 100% of its capacity. The Texas Medical Centre is fucking massive, it's basically a city of hospitals.

It's absolutely unforgivable that the US finds themselves in the situation that they do through shoddy, rushed re-openings and a leader who is scared people will make fun of him if he puts a mask on and he's terrified that all the orange bullshit he paints on his face will rub off onto it. He's taken this personal fear and basically made it policy in a complete lack of leadership. I'd like to think he'd have done better if it wasn't an election year but I doubt it.

Job's conspiracy mind says the media are changing the rules - but only in a whackjob fuckhead's world do you cherry pick data from ten days ago to "prove" people aren't dying from stuff they caught 9 days ago when you know it takes 3 weeks to die - so figures will rise in line in July.
