I've seen the extended version - i'm leaning towards the rapper's side. What those two youngmen were doing is called harassment with intent, they knew full well what they were doing, and had been given ample and repeated chances to walk away.

Their itch was scratched, and while they definetely did not deserve grievous bodily harm, a rougharound with little bodily integrity consequence never hurt anyone. They deserved it.
