Hmm, so much bogus information displayed in this thread. First of all, Albs who complain about their realm's strengths in 8vs8 RvR (like Calaclya) are cheating themselves--yes, it is a convenient excuse so that you can avoid improving your own abilities, but it's hardly reality. In my view, 8vs8 RvR in DAoC is currently rather balanced; opted groups in all the three realms are quite evenly matched, with Mids having a slight edge (nowhere near being "unbeatable", like some Enchanter in this thread wants to claim).

its rly the healer/shammy utility combo that makes mid the easymode realm, add on sm BG pet/bonedancers/savages/warlocks/ae stun/celerity and voila, case closed.

However, I think the term "easymode" is over-used. It's not easy; it's never easy vs any well-rounded and experienced group. Midgard does clearly have the edge in full group fights, due to the obscene amount of interrupts; instas etc.

It's very hard (well, impossible) to fit everything you can put in a mid group into an alb setup; it just can't happen. Of course there are different types of group that can only be run in alb as well (lifetap moc3 groups for example).

As Konah said, the shaman/healer combo is lethal. We can compensate by putting 3 clerics in; but then of course you'll still need friar for the resists. We lack the same utility in the remaining classes to give the dps/interrupts required.

I'm not whining, these are just my thoughts

In my opinion a nice setup is:

2x healer
shaman
2x darkness spiritmaster
bodyguard
1x zerker

And 1 more spot for something, most likely healer or another banelord. I kinda liked our "old" grp which we ran before some people went inactive, with above mentioned setup + another zerker. We'll try a setup with bonedancer on the last spot soon, time will tell how it works.

many banelords for interupt, and strong damage output, savage with bodyguard on RM, u have the utility of NS and strong nuker, who will need BG aye.

Like i said, not too fotm group, but i have been running like this before, and it works RLY well, and we have tried with Revolver, which also works nice tho we had no BG.

and the SM, BD issue: i agree to all albs and hibs, they are overpowered, nurf them, give runies a better rr5, maybe instead of only 90% evade, a little parry aswell? dont u think, like 20%?

bribe mythic/goa to delete all SM/BD chars and change them to a lvl 35 troll shaman with +15 str! rr 1l1! or a kobold thane1!11!

about chanters dps debuff, its nothing like prenurf patch... + at the current state of teh game i dont feel dirty at all using it especially against mids with all their instant spells + "funny" classes. Not sure if it will get any attention at mythic as chanter population is like close to zero in rvsr (bainshee is alot better in every way possible + hibs rather take eld for solo nuker spot.)

oh and staj you were trigger happy about it, at least the few fights i had against you preNF you kinda always happened to dps me a few times Though on the other hand, i did use it on my chanter aswell.

2x Assisting Zerkers <Decent Players etc>

My thinking is If u dont kill the 2x bonedancers in the 1st 15-20 seconds combat and have 2x di3 running on Healers No Hib/Alb grp can win 8v8 , as pets/Insta lifetap/sm lifetap will have all Clerics/Druids/Bards/Sorcs tied down instantly .

Anyone see anything wrong with this setup ?

You tell me what utility Enchanters have over sm's bd's sorc's theurg's we have no way near the utility they have , the dps is fair in my opinion as bd's have the insta life tap wich interupts ect. The dps just gives chanter more of what they need and not evry chanter abuses it you only get slight few who no when to use it.

DPS debuff has been working since May 2005, its almost ½ a year soon and none has ever bothered to whine about it.. up until the day the real abusers get to know about it (some people have a big mouth) .. no names mentioned but their listed above.. :touch:

My valk has Winged+SoM+Battler charge. Can i join anyway?=(
And all valks should use Dread Bone Spear or something, 4.0 spd ftw.
Put EoY on them too for even more ressing!
