This thread is just asking for a repeat performance of the last one.

But I shant dignify it.

Hmm... I've used this before and as noble as it is I didn't like it banging my processor at 100% usage and watching the temperature increase.

I'll give it another go, though. Maybe they've implemented a system to cap proc usage, but I doubt it.

Oh well, no Linux version, seems they aren't so bothered about helping whatever dead people they want to help after all.

Kez don't dignify this thread if its the view I believe you took last time.

100% usage still, it basically uses your processor when nothing else is, if your processor can handle 10 minutes of it then it'll be fine.

Linux version is comming but I believe it requires some work from Intel.

What to tell us another 'way' you 'use' linux as posted in about 90% of your posts:p

Kurt my friend, i'm simply trying to show you all the light. As TDC has stopped raging on about Linux of late, iu've taken over as 'mr pimp linux'.

Btw, calling you 'kurt' when that's neither your realname, nor one of your playing names, is rather weird...

I think we should lock all the Linux Evangelists in one room and set fire to it. The world would indeed be a happier place.

I do, and they do "give it away" Embattle. Linux has been free since the day it was born.

Don't think you're understanding me. Linux isn't that popular compared to Windoze.........even the crap Windoze versions continue to hammer it and yet Linux is free :p

A nicer way to put it = Linux is good but its a geeks OS and not one that the general public is ever likely to understand. For Linux to succeed it must be more like Windows but that will never happen for reasons you well know ;)

Pah, i'm running RH7.2, and for a competant windows user, i'd ay it's no real step up. Admittedly, from my experiance it seemsthat you do get alot more out of Linux by delving into complicated things, but it's hardly rocket science.

Ah yes, this old bean.
You're quite right, I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about linux in relation to it's being free, while you were in fact talking about linux being 'unpopular' even though it's free.

Hmmm, that's a good one actually. I have no idea why. Perhaps it's due to the way it all started off, or the way that linux is open or even because the actual thing that is linux is made by a group of "hackers" and not by some company with large marketing department.

Anyway, I don't debate the issue anymore. In fact, I really don't care what OS you run. I'm not going to argue linux vs. microsoft at 02:00 in the am. Either use it or don't. I use it, and it works perfectly fine [unless you want to watch quicktime mov's heh. Apple are such bitches.] for me. I can play games, I can do my internet thing, office thing whatever.

Of course, if you chose not to use linux, but to run ms or mac software you should accept the consequences of your decision no? I mean you actualy bought windows2000 or whatever it is you run right? And msoffice right?
I own a copy of windowsNT4, it ran nicely and I still use it sometimes [like when I want to watch some quicktime ie. the LOTR trailer ea.] but my OS of choice is linux.

good idea :)

while on the subject: I've used the SETI and dnet clients. For several reasons I'd rather like to run the UD-Intel client. I hope they port soon.
