Is just lovely on my crappy old AA1 netbook. Runs as fast as Linpus used to but with modern features and the new UI looks great. Installed quick and everything works first time. Best 'fuck all' I've spent this year :)

Works fine for me too, much better than 9. The problems I have with it however are generally to do with the fact that I keep my stuff on a NAS. It is epic fail so far at remembering that for example music is not a folder on the netbook and photos is not a folder on the netbook, etc, etc.

Also I don't know about you but the best bonus I've had so far was to remove empathy and install pidgin, empathy blows and pidgin integrates into the online stuff in the status bar.

I don't use IM so no problem tbh :)

I liked the fact that I could download from the inbuilt torrent client and play avis almost out of the box (it found the codecs I needed itself, I just had to confirm it.)

Yeah, it is quite nice that it picks up the codecs by itself. I had to install the linux equivalent of growl myself which did annoy me as it's quite handy when you've got limited screen real estate.

The folders thing really does get on my tits though. It's probably not helped by the fact that Rhythmbox now seems to dislike the firefly media server on my NAS, despite it having worked perfectly Under 9. Stupid things like this are why I've never made the full jump away from Windows.

On the plus sides again though, the purple for the screen works much better I think, easier on the eyes. Chromium has replaced firefox because fox without weave is unbearable to me now I'm used to it and on the netbook weave is a resource beast.

Can't remember what else I did to it off the top of my head but I'll have a look through the software packages at some point and tell ya. It's very nippy though. Much closer to Jolicloud in terms of speed which is good as I was getting close to the "fuck it put XP on" stages.

Is it me or did they move the close/minimise/maximise buttons over to the left of a window? Bloody annoying.

Yep, they did.

Has anyone managed to get Ubuntu One working ?

I asked it to sync my pictures folder and the directory stucture appears at one.ubuntu.com but no files within it. Ever. Usage stays at 0K. Been trying it all night and well fucked off now :(

Update - sync-up to Ubuntu One is working-ish now. Just VEEEERY slow. It managed about 40MB last night out of 300 odd. People keep saying the servers are too busy with all the new users from Ubuntu 10 but I thought it was based off Amazon's cloud ? Maybe they just haven't bought enough resource off Amazon ?
