afaik wow = solo

why do people make stupid comments like this --- play the game first, then make comments with authority.

WoW is going to kill off DAOC. I have already been on Alliance v Horde raids..and damn fun it is too.

I digress, no WoW doesnt = solo!

*I* do play wow atm, lvl 35 mage horde, and i only solo. i have 3rl mates that paly as well, we all just solo. faster exp imo.

so my "stupid" comment is still

WoW = solo.

Edit: and daoc rvr > wow pvp. will se when they fix bg's and stuff tho.

i hear a lot of people have found now that they are level 60 there is sod all to do and are bored with it. i would rather play a game that has something to keep you entertained.

The same could be said of DAOC, I wouldnt judge the endgame in Wow till you have played it yourself. Im playing Wow cause its keeping me entertained in a way DAOC isnt, perhaps all that gameplay will disappear once I hit 60, but its more fun that sitting on DL steps waiting for a group that will never appear.

It will get repetitive ..I can assure you that ..there is a more solo aspect to it ..the way the chat is designed I find limits interaction too ..you wont sit down with a load of people and have as much of a laugh as u could in daoc ..

a m8 asked in broad yesterday..anyone know the bloodhornyaddayadda quest and a load of guys starting going fuckin newb read the fucking bla bla ...

such tards..all ill say is u will find a lot more kids play that game than daoc not that u will talk to them much ;)

anyway..im prolly bitter cause its sad to see good friends go but My forcast is that after a few weeks people ( some ) will not enjoy it as much as they thought and return for catacombs ..and remember !!

WOW - farcry meets savage with diablo interface and a 12 cert .. :D

and what did DAoC have to offer lvl 50s within 2 weeks of its release?

if you compare WoW to DAoC when it was first released as thats how it should be compared imo then WoW beats DAoC by miles.

I'm sure that WoW will evolve and have something for those at 60

DAoC didn't even have many level 50 items within 2 weeks of release, remember how long it took to get CM itemised? :p At least in wow you can get equipment right up to the top level.

BTW wow interface isn't like diablo - it's not click to move (unless you want it to be). ;)

Dunno can barely remember the end of D2, I played it through then forgot about it more or less, while my hand recovered from the mad click spamming. :(

WOW is nice, new and shiny and it holds our attention for a while. It will get lost as its boring and repetative over time, and aspecially daoc powergamers will get seriously bored in WOW shortly. But its a nice timeout from the regular stuff.

Depending what you make of it. If you call human nature repetative, yes RvR will also be that. But when fighting other human beings there is no AI you need to counter, its different from time to time. Granted, when WOW finally get PvP content in place, it will change, but until then its very little gratifying griefing people without any reward.

Remember though, atm I am playing WOW and find it amusing. But I also have a realistic view as to how long I will find it amusing. Not too long. Daoc on the other hand has kept my interest for 3+ years.

DAoC at the start had no more purpose to RvR than WoW does to PvP, look at it now...

When you compare products spaced 3 years apart, you should not expect them to give you the same things. WoW should have offered a hell of a lot more things than daoc did at launch. Plain and simple. If you're supporting the argument that "it will get better" then you're backtracking in your expectations.

Not much of proper consumer behaviour in the scene I guess... At least when you buy a car, try getting one that fits in today's world.

Quote Danya and saying the exact same as Gear would just look stupid, so I wont. But close...

I am not playing daoc 3 years ago, I am playing daoc now. WOW wasnt released 3 years ago, it was released now, and they should know VERY WELL what people want. Releasing an unfinished game is the ultimate mistake from Blizzard as I see it, cause all the happy little Blizz-fanbois have been chanting the past couple years "Blizzard never makes unfinished games", "When WOW is released it will be perfect" and so on. Guess what, Blizzard got the preassure of time on them and was forced to deliever. What they delievered was an unfinished game, shiny and new but also unfinished. Read the game manual, the ones following the CDs when you buy them, all these nice pages about Honor, Ranks and Items for special ranks. Guess what, its not there. Its UNFINISHED!

On the other hand, I can accept that, as I never believe in anything perfect. But if they dont implement the honor-system fast, they will loose alot more customers than the normal "move-on" people. Shiny and new just isnt good enough for people that wanna PvP and continously evolve their chars.

MMORPGs are not cars, the car analagy works for non subscription based games, but not for mmorpgs. A major part of mmorpg sales is that they have a live team and get updated over time, unlike most games and unlike cars.

As for fitting today's world, WoW does IMO - I, unlike some it would seem, was not looking for DAoC in Azeroth with it, if that's what you're after, you'll be disapointed. WoW is fun, and has plenty of things to aim for at present, I don't expect it to have as much stuff as a game that's been out for 3 years, that's just naive.

Writing unfinished in caps is meaningless, no MMORPG is ever truly finished, that's part of the way they are designed - there's always something new to look forward to.

Still, as a consumer I would expect something more to start with. There are 3rd generation MMORPGs coming in a while, there is always something newer and better. Launching a product and instilling to your clientele the hope that things will get better (which I hear from just about anyone regarding wow) is just not enough, for me at least.

My opinion always, you don't have to agree, we're just discussing.
