Writing unfinished in caps is meaningless, no MMORPG is ever truly finished, that's part of the way they are designed - there's always something new to look forward to.
Meaningless in your eyes, I got my point made clear apparently, that was the intention. And I agree with you, a mmorpg is never finished and I never want it to be. On the other hand, something as important as the honorsystem (cause quite frankly, without it the pvp in wow is useless), is something they should have had on release, either by making it faster or delaying the release. Afterall, all Blizzard fanbois are used to waiting for the good stuff right ;)

When its a core feature for pvp, and its in the game manual at release, I still maintain "unfinished" when its released without it.

I don't much care about PvP so no honour system doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Nice to know what some of the old excali peeps are doing right now, good luck to those of ya who are headed to WoW :)

WoW is a great game, but PvP servers are a real no-go unless you have a guild and some non-insane people to talk too as the general chat is complete 1337 speak, b-net kiddie spam. Why WoW PvP has become such a twat magnet i don't know.

Ignore the munchkins and the game is superb, good luck bud and enjoy :)

The problem with WoW as I see it is that MC->BWL->What ever blizzard comes up with next is pretty much the end game, the PvP seems like it's tacked on and not very good (imagine a 5hr wait to get into the "emain instance")

I'm sorry but I don't want to be in a 40 man guild that does MC/BWL 4x week and QQ's at you if you cba. (for those who don't know these are dungeons that take ages to clear - yet most of the really good loot drops there, sometimes, if you're lucky and have DKP to spend)

For me DAoC was always, get 50, get a decent SC and MLs then go RvR and forget about PvE. WoW is much too like EQ in some ways for me.

Tried WoW. Got bored. Came back. 'Nuff said.

Pretty, some nice features, but nothing to look forward to at the end of the grind.

Well i spent a fair amount of time in WoW. I played in the US Beta, EU Beta and then retail for several months. During that time i did enjoy brief periods of it (mainly during the leveling to 60 with guildies) and had made some new friends aswell.

But the end result is really bad tbh. I found that the average WoW player is worse then awful, in pve and pvp and was lucky if i ever found anyone worth fighting against. The game was a huge time sink, much like DAOC was when ToA came out. Trying to get the right items and meeting so many assholes on a daily basis made the game even worse.

At the end of the day WoW is a half decent game if you like pve, but if you have any shred of pvp ambition in you, then you sure as hell aint gonna find it in WoW. Id say DAOC is in the same boat as it, both being lame, its not even worth talking about. I mean both of them have the same things in common, where you need to spend endless hours getting the right equipment, abilities etc.. then you go and pvp and its nothing but stupid zerg fests and chances of any good competition is close to nil.

If your looking to try out a GOOD game m8 then you should try out Guild Wars. I can't speak highly enough about it tbh. The pve is short, yet interesting as you follow a story line and it has cinematics as if you were playing a single player RPG. Its perfect for the casual gamer, you dont need to group with people if you don't want to when leveling, you don't need to farm for items and you don't need to pay any subscription charges. And best of all, this game is aimed at PVP! it has world tournaments all the time, where you can play against Yanks, Koreans and other Europeans.

The character system for GW is unrivaled aswell, as you can change and swap you skills as much as you like. Pvp is alwasys changing and adapting and there is no such thing as FOTM chars or FOTM setups. In short, its leagues ahead of any MMPORG on the market and is closing in on WoW's dominance in the market with over a million players so far.

Anyway I hope you enjoy ya time in WoW, but if you feel the need to do some proper PvP then give GW a try ;)

i played the wow beta.

its like awsome graphix and was instantly playable. And I knew straight away I could get addicted to it like daoc. but one thing put me off.

like 5 classes will make RVR very dull.

not that daoc is perfect but the RVR is kind of funny still.

Played us beta and eu beta, played a paladin to lvl 60 and did lair/mc until I got bored and closed the account again.. didn't like paladin in pvp, and pve got boring very quickly at lvl 60 to me atleast.
