You know, if the game had a high percentage of African players, it might be different. Ever think of that? There are a lot of Spanish and EU players in DAoC, and so it's hardly shocking to see the community affected by this incident more than say events in Rwanda.

It's possibly I may sound like a wanker for saying that, however I certainly got a point. Even in our "democratic" world, where every human supposedly is invaluable, told so by our politicians - rest assured that it's only being said to comfort the feelings of the mob, we're all expendable (just look at the amount of prisoners taken from I-countries in Guatanamo) band those in the third world countries even more so. If there isn't a profit to be gained, and preferably an immediate one! ... the powerstructure doesn't care - after all, it's not like they're going to live forever, most likely will just get voted out too anyways.

I don't play games to find out what's going on in the world - for that, I prefer to watch the news when I wake up, read my paper while sitting in the train, check on news site when I come back home and again later on, watching the evening news. Hence, I prefer to consider myself "relatively" updated on what's happening around the world.

Oh, and I do know the meaning of a memorial - if it's that important to show your condolences to the "world", shouldn't you rather go put some flowers at the local embassy or maybe make a website where people could get their indulgence, instead of 1) dragging it into something which is somewhat irrelevant (only somewhat, since we are still humans and still have feelings - or some does ), 2) forcing it onto the rest of us, who might not agree with it interfering in our game?

Well reading out this I thought i'd say something bout this (yea flame away,I was able to think wow!) , first of all its horrible what happened in spain although I had it so busy I still don't know all the details about it...As to me, I lived in the US for a year and my plane back was due on september the 13th, 2 days after the twin tower incident ... As you can already guess I didn't took that plane, I was even afraid to fly for awhile...thing is, life hits you where ever you are, Africa, Russia or even on the southpole counting pigeons ... you cannot escape from all this...this shouldn't be happening...

Truth is, it IS happening, right in front of our noses.THings like this wake every1 up with a bang cuz where I live the society has become apathic...The pope broke a leg getting out his bath tub is on frontpage, but a guy 2 blocks away got murdered is on page 11 ... what's more important eh?...wake up and smell the air i'd say.

But the most terrible thing about all those terrorist attacks and things happening is the fact YOU can do nothing about it, just accept it I guess ... pray for those who are lost and hope this wont happen again ...

I leave DAoC end of this month, not forgood, I hope not at least...I am taking first plane back on april the 5th , starting a new life with my fiancee living in massachussets and yes I admit i'm scared taking that step again, I hope my plane ain't gonna see ANYTHING from real up close while i'm on it ...

Well anyway, my thoughts are with all those who lost some1 dear in this, like a family member of a friend I know in daoc, my prayers go with you all ... I could not attend this cuz I was not home all night but I would have payed my respects if I was online for sure...
