It's the only way of attracting attention for some jobs though. If you ask for a pay rise, they'll say no. If you strike, disrupt services and then ask for a pay rise - they'll take you more seriously.

@Gamah - got a new job very recently -> £5.35 an hour!

...and you were moaning about the train fare!

Got it this week so it doesn't count.

And no I'd never work in McDonalds or any of those fast food joints.
