Libertines and Kings of Leon are fantastic. The rest are, well, I guess it says a lot about the standard of music we have been subjected to in the 21st centuary.

lynyrd skynyrd - god & guns
back door slam - roll away
flogging molly - float
rage against the machine - renegades
airbourne - ready to rock
airbourne - runnin wild
the nightwatchman - one man revolution

could only think of those looking at my playlist, so no particular order.
death magnetic was definitely a step in the right direction, but it never grabbed me like old metallica. but with skynyrds new album thats exactly what happens, even thought they only have like one original member. reminded me of the oldschool skynyrd.

of course i could also list some movie soundtracks (for example o brother where art thou) and live festival compilations (crossroads guitar festival) but they arent really albums in their own right so ah well.

Haha these threads always make me think people ignore everyone's lists and just post their favourite one.

probably, but i made the thread to read everyone elses cos i like seeing albums/artists i'ev never heard of, and if people rate them as the best of the last 10 years then they're probably worth checking out

and Thorwyn - Art Brut, seriously? :p

RHCP - Californication

thats not from the noughties!
though i really liked it, as well as by the way. stadium arcadium can also be classified as one of the greats i think, with the huge success it had, but i dont think its among their best material.

Yep.. I like them. They haven´t got a clue about music and can´t play for shit, but they´re pretty good at that. :)

Weird.. I looked it up on Wiki and the german Wiki says 2000, english one says 1999. o_O
Anyways, I agree, Stadium Arcadium was definitely not their best one.

Well I quite like reading other lists to compare - quite often people list stuff I've forgotten about.

I think Muse and Elbow have had some good albums over the last few years.

Cant think of any musicans/bands that have made me stand back and go "wow" since the millenium to be fair.

All this indie music is shite, helped by things like NME creaming over Arctic Monkey clones etc.

you have exceptions with The White Stripes and early Kings of Leon, as they were more bluesy/country orientated. But since then, everything else is utter wank.

Slipknot's Iowa was a pretty good release, along with Toxicity by S.O.A.D, but that is down to personal preference.

In terms of music changing/defining albums this decade, look at Hybrid Theory or Limp Bizkit's Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavoured Water.

The second especially, was not the best album, yet everyone seemingly in the UK knew the words to at least 1 L.B songs. They even sang the theme song for 2 Wrestlemania's.
