Today is a wonderful day. Well, that is to say that people who have been out and about have told me that it is. myself, I'm sitting in a climate-controlled humidity-regulated dust-free [almost] server room. I believe that it is 17 deg C in here and I'm pretty cold. The only good thing about this room is that it has a 5" thick armored, mirrored glasslike portal in one wall that looks out onto the parking lot. Through the window I looked out at some poor sap who's task it was to sweep the lot. When he passed before the window I threw a stressball I had been toying with at his head as hard as I could [and would have hit him too].
This experiment leads me to believe that the glass [I don't really think it's glass tbh] is soundproof because he didn't miss a sweep heh.
Dear Mr TdC

Please may I come and play in your server room? Yours sounds much better than mine, which is currently a sweltering 19C and needs a hoovering.

Yours,

Summo.

Got into work this morning and the air-conditioning had fucking packed up.

Dreadful day. We spent most of the afternoon sweltering and getting really drowsie.

Really nice when I got into our ice cold airconned trains for home though. :)

I hate the people who whinge about the weather in this country when they say "baahhh it's too cold" and then followed by "maahh it's too hot".

At the moment it's hot, it's sunny, it's lovely. If I had my way it would be like this all year round, except hotter, and sunnier. Rain sucks because I lose my tan.

yes you may. you can sit in the corner by the rs/6000 clusters and the tape robot cabinet. I'm sure that when you sit there my creeping paranoia that somethings about to jump on me out from behind the robot will finally be put to rest. unless it gets you first. in that case I'll have a panic attack, roll 1d6 and maybe pass out.

regards,

TdC

He played badly in weather that you wouldnt even dare to leave your festering pit in. He did the best he could considering.

The issue is humidity, retard. I come from a country that regularly sees 40 - 45c summers and I have no problem with it at all. The nice thing is that it's DRY HEAT

I actually spent most of the weekend in the company of two austrailian girls, and they did nothing but moan and complain about how horrible and sticky the UK heat is.

Damn right, the heat in the UK isn't hotter than a number of places but many find it uncomfortable since you end up sweating like Jades crack.

When in Florida its hot but you can just drop in the pool or go inside where the aircon is going 24/7, a thunderstorm normally takes the edge off towards evening.

Going out on Bike or doing some other sport also has the effect of taking the edge off.

33 here today although its dropped slight now it's still damn warm but my CPU is still pushing 50 :)

Dunno about a picture. I imagine I will have the outlet tube sticking out a small window and that's it.

We plan to use it in various rooms so won't be *fixing* it permanently to anywhere.

I'll let you know how effective it is in our lounge (31ft x 12ft)

Just ordered This Little Beauty. Should be delivered Wednesday.

Not intending to piss on your fire or anything (actually, I lie. I am) but according to the Weather reports, the weather is supposedly going downhill all week. You just know this weather won't last, grin and bear it. £250 is a lot to spend for something you'll only use 20-30 days a year.

Mind you, we all know just how inaccurate weather reports tend to be :)

Well, fair point, but my intention is to use it as a de-humidifier in the Winter because one of our rooms gets shitloads of condensation.
