But you implied that you cant really play and Mod, Yes the carry on with Tilda's theiving ingame etc was caused because he still played but it was mainly caused because he's a turd.

Film is a mod atm, he is active and you said this was unworkable, it is workable but you just need to be carefull that you pick someone with enough integrety to not make an almighty cockup ingame that causes nightmares as regards to modding.

I said it was a no win situation. I said people can get suspicious. Where on earth did you magic unworkable from? I just said whatever the situation of the mod, people have the capacity to complain, so its a no win situation. I'm very pleased with the choice of Flim as mod. I didn't pick up a dartboard and throw darts until I hit a name. I didn't chose a mod in the same way Old Testament God chose plagues. I chose what I thought to be a decent person - where is this unworkable?

And you were the one that brought up the trolls here, not me. You were the one who alluded to the fact that tackling the spammers was pointless, when the whole forum was a flame fest anyway, not me. I'm more than aware they form a great proprortion of the community.

And maybe everyone else that trolls feels the same way as you. Maybe you trolling makes other people think it's not worthwhile, and then they troll too. That's what I was saying - trolling is an issue for the community to tackle, mods can only help in part.

The thing is Damini that these forums arnt the community, these forums are the main outlet for the "rage" because you cant flame people through PM's across realms.

Scan through the RVR threads aside from the "ding" ones and tell me how much is actually worth saying, Most of the good things happen ingame or to a lesser extent in guild irc chat rooms (Celtic fist aside) all the shit and whine end up here.

Theres no point trying to cut all the spam here as there will be nothing left, theres no point banning all the spammers/trolls because there will be no-one left.

Why do i even read these forums anymore? well aside from the odd thread thats actually a good read i just find it funny to see people trying to prove there intelligence on an internet forum and i quite enjoy winding said anal people up.

Its good that you try to make the forums a better place Damini and I really appreciate your work, but as long as there are people like Poon (who always flame me ingame even tho I never spoke to him) its hard to make this a nice place for people who don't like spam, +1 and flames.

Why not just make a seperate RvR forum where flaming isnt allowed and make everyone happy? As a christian ive always lived by "do to others what you whould want them to do to you", and all this horrible flaming, well... It hurts, so many people think that they arent talking to a real person and show no respect for the posters feelings/integrity. I dont wanna throw the first rock here but many a time have i heard people that was very upset about poons rugged behaviour, both ingame and on forums. And regarding him threatening Agina, thats a criminal act, and when sharing and fun turns into some sort of gangster paradise I cant help but to wonder; Is it the workings of the Devil? But on the other hand we can not solely blame or actions on either polarity, we are all responsible and need to think more "we" thaughts and less "I" thaughts. Equality amongst equals, should always be propagated, not only by mods but indeed by the entire community. Its sad to see that flaming, ignorance and general rudeness is not frowned upon, like it should be. What can we do to change this? Well infroming the community of the benefits that come with moral standards is a good first step, daminis actions on the forum have probobly make alot of people wonder if what they are doing is right.

BW isn't just the DAoC forums, infact it was around a long time before the DAoC, and all other forums have the post counts without any such problems. I don't think we should remove the post counts simply because of the problems of a few DAoC players.

And I think there is a world of difference between the discussions in this thread, and just typing +1 in every thread. I can't see how I'm post farming at all to be honest. This is a subject I'm interested in discussing, and that's what I'm doing.

And fyric, I know these boards aren't serious, we actively aren't the VNBoards, but that doesn't mean we should allow people to rip the piss out of the mods, or just post inane drivel.

Im well aware of this. Perhaps its possible to exclude postcounts from specific forums ? Excluding the different DAOC-boards would be a good step.

You're little mano-o-mano with Poon was nothing more then a blatant postfarming from Poon, you helping him with that doesnt make you a postfarming BUT you are basically promoting it. Why not settle this argument in PM's instead of dragging it out on an entire page in a thread.

Not gonna tell you how to moderate these boards, but if you want to stop postfarming my suggestion is to actively DO something about the users. Banning, deleting post(counts), stuff like that will reduce the post-farming. Not 'some moderator telling you 'dont do it again or I give you another warning'.

Anyhow my 2 cents, personally I dont give a rats arse about it anyhow, Im perfectly capable of reading selectively and ignoring QQ's etc.

And last but not least there's the ignore option too.
