I get 75mb-80mb and I live in the sticks - Though it ended up being cheaper putting cable in than copper at the time when they (and in chronological order) Cut through, flooded, cut through, cut through the only lines into the village. Thank fuck for incompetent council workmen.

Ok, so Virgin's "152mb" is 19 megabytes per second

Yeah, always divide it by 10 (its actually supposed to be 8 but I am sure they fuck about with it to make it 10). 100mb broadband will mean you download at 10mbps or there abouts. 1 gig every 16 minutes or so.

Edit- What I like about Virgin is I get this all the time. With BT the internet always went to shit in the evenings.

Well either way. I went from 1.8 to 75 over night...along with my wedding day, possibly the happiest day of my life and I can still (just about) see sheep and cows from my bedroom window.

It's usually divide by 9, which is 8 plus a check bit, but there is always an overhead with TCP/IP acknowledgement packets to by 10 isn't too far off.

This standard one is 30p, obviously it goes up depending on size, shape, way of preparation, by a lot if you want that special kind with seeds from the Mboodju mountain and dust of pregnant faeries.
