I don't think it'll work that way @Zarjazz. What will happen is consolidation (which tbh is probably not great). But the tech ain't going anywhere. The upside economic capture possibilities are too great.

I never said that wouldn't be the case. But just like in the past, such tech will just become another mundane tool that people use when appropriate. That's why they call these things bubbles, the difference between the hype and the actual useful work (and revenue) they produce eventually pops and balance returns.

As for how much ram? 16gig prob still fine for most things but to be safe with newer titles 32gig is safe if you run multiple monitors/have tabs open and other things while playing games.

128gig is wayyy overkill, even for heavy coders I think 128gig is too much, swedish mate that codes only uses 64gig and he said thats fine.


Only way i'd ever consider 128gig+ is if I ran a dedicated game server with 200+ people on it consistently
