I don't think it'll work that way @Zarjazz. What will happen is consolidation (which tbh is probably not great). But the tech ain't going anywhere. The upside economic capture possibilities are too great.

I never said that wouldn't be the case. But just like in the past, such tech will just become another mundane tool that people use when appropriate. That's why they call these things bubbles, the difference between the hype and the actual useful work (and revenue) they produce eventually pops and balance returns.
