Don't disagree @Zarjazz - but it's still a bit silly saying that America would come in on Agentina's side in a new Falklands war.

There's oil. The traditional diplomatic playbook goes out the minute there's oil involved. If Trump thinks that his family can profit by backing Argentina , then they'll back Argentina all the way. I don't think Trump and co expects it to come to blows, but there's a middle ground where a third party handles the oil rights and both Argentina and the UK get a slice of the pie. It might just be that a Jared Kusher backed firm becomes this third party. This is how Trump operates. Graft, Graft and more graft. It should be expected at every turn these days.

Apparently the UK firm who found the oil needed 3.5bn to exploit it - and they got it from Israel, who've taken 2/3rds of the profits apparently.

But it's AI, so no one cares about blatant plagiarism right?

I know that they'd raised a concern and but I didn't know they'd evidenced it.

An interesting thing is - if you're using AI to do the heavy lifting, is it really all your work anyway? We reward scientists for breakthroughs but if it's not actually their minds that make the breakthroughs, should they really be claiming the "first" that is currently incredibly prestigious.

More widely though - it's clear that AI can be a massive benefit to mankind. If we can accelerate our problem solving from decades to days then the pace of scientific revolution can scream ahead.
