The guy to the right of the Pope wouldn't look out of place with a nazi swastika flag behind him.

Italian police have short memories when it comes to uniform design!

I built a Din Djarin cosplay costume for my daughter and we attended the East European comicon. She had a blast and her costume attracted a lot of attention and compliments - my 3 weeks of hard work paid off.

You made the armour and the helmet too? That's incredible

The power of a 3D printer and enough determination to go through many many, MANY stages of priming, sanding, painting, coating. The tunic and pants pattern was bought off etsy, and sewn up by a seamstress.

All in all, approx 3-4 weeks of work.

I liked all sorts @SilverHood. I'm just looking for something new, you know?

But every game I've played in the last decade has been sort of a rehash of something I've already played. Barring a few notable exceptions of stuff that's been done really well. HL:Alyx was 'new', Cyberpunk was just a really nice experience for what it was, but I've zero desire to go back to, or that genre, at all. Civ, well it's Civ. I've enjoyed a load of indy stuff. I've been thinking a long while that I've hit every genre hard enough and there's nothing novel any more.

So really, anything tbh. But something that made you go "woah, that was different". (BG3 did that for me - 'played it before', but they'd done enough with some bits of it that it felt innovative in it's own right).

some ~35 years ago i was acquainted with a guy from i think Germany or Austria, somewhere around there anyway. His name was Inge Köön. Now in Germany or wherever he came from in that general area, that's not anything special as far as names go.

However, in Sweden where he and his mom lived for whatever reason the pronunciation of that first and last name translates literally to "No Genitalia".

He was very much not a happy guy.

This was genuinely going to be the Predator, but the director didn't want the alien to be a laughing stock

Doesn't look rubber at all. Especially the creases at the elbow. Looks more like a British holiday maker after a day on the beach

Fucking broken record.

How is it freedom of speech?

Venue doesn't want them to play so they don't, tough shit.

Don't like it? Don't support those venues.

I get the venues cancelling them, not keen on the "terrorism" angle.

Assessing it doesn't mean investigation
Police getting involved for something someone said, rather than what someone did.

Freedom, at no point, involves the police.

Edit: But seriously jeezus - if the police are looking into it, what the fuck is that if not investigating? Can you not see the flips and twists that you're doing to make the world fit into your leftist authoritarian religion whilst enabling you to maintain the lie to yourself that you hold 'freedom' dear?

Look at the words in your own post again. Critically.

I mean, there's lots of times where the Police 'assess' things and then say yeah we're not investigating, it happens quite often for things that make the media rounds.

Yes. Yes there are aren't there. For stuff people say.

I know you've grown up in a world where that's commonplace, so maybe it feels like fuck all for you. Maybe it feels normal. Maybe it even feels like the right thing to do.

When all the far right weirdos were calling for the RNLI to be banned, I signed up to donate every month. Had an email.

Hi XXXXXXX,
We hope you’re enjoying the spring sunshine!

Our rescue figures for 2024 have just been released – it was our fourth-busiest year on record, with a total of 437 lives saved (that’s more than one a day!).

In 2024, there were:
  • 9,141 lifeboat launches
  • 17,068 people helped out of dangerous situations
  • 352 lives saved by RNLI lifeboat crews
  • 85 lives saved by RNLI lifeguards
  • Over 17,000 people helped by RNLI lifeguards

Our lifesavers rely on the generous support of people like you to answer the call for help. We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you so much for being part of the RNLI family and helping save lives at sea.

Which is nice. Fuck you, simpletons.

The RNLI is the charity I care about. Not least because I kayak. When mum died last year, the RNLI was where the donations went.

The problem there is - how much of those 17,000 are migrants in the channel?

For me - the RNLI should be protecting us all. If, for example, 50% of RNLI funding - all charitable donations - is going to the south coast then that's distorting the purpose of the charity.

The government should be funding migrant boats out of general taxation. The RNLI should be focussing on protecting all of us - not being financially compromised by the south coast.
