@Gwadien @Gwadien @Gwadien!! :D

Labour are bringing in new sentencing guidelines - effective 1st April 2025 - which are effectively DEI for our courts!

Judges should request a pre-sentence report (which informs whether you get a custodial sentence) if you are (amongst others):
  • female
  • from an ethnic minority, cultural minority, and/or faith minority community
  • pregnant or post-natal....
Or if the court considers that one or more of the following may apply to the offender:
  • has disclosed they are transgender....

So, if you're a woman, transgender, or from an ethnic minority (i.e. not a white bloke) then you should get a PSR to assist judges with sentencing.

Of course, Labour is trying to address a disparity in sentencing outcomes. Which is a fair aim.

But, being Labour, it's being discriminatory. Again.

Just can't help themselves can they?

I dunno, I can't find it anywhere else so I doubt it's a proper explanation of what evs is going on.

I posted the link to the actual government guidance - and quoted the actual sections of that guidance. How can you not follow?

Really simple terms: PSRs usually result in a less severe sentence. But it's not mandatory for Judges to request them.

Government guidance, being brought in by Labour, from next month will say to judges - if the defendent is anyone other than a white man, get a PSR.

Now. You might not want to believe that is a "proper explanation" because you don't want to see your precious labour party as discriminatory. I can't help that. All I can do is give you the facts. And dem's the facts. Facts - not opinion - the evidence has been provided right there in black and white*.

*well, in green on darker green (if you're on the correct colour scheme).

Indepedent body made the call and the Labour Minister doesn't want it by the looks of things.

Probably explains why it isn't big news.

Are you a closet GB news consumer?

Are you desparate to put me in a box with other people or something?

My telly isn't plugged into an aerial and I don't subscribe to any provider - so no TV news. My (significantly) primary news source is the Guardian, despite it being a pit of broken ideology.

This is the problem with wanting to treat people as part of a group, rather than as individuals. I haven't got a side. I just say what I think is right. And it turns out, after you did some digging, that I was right eh? :)

the Labour Minister doesn't want it by the looks of things.
The labour minister, who was going to waft it on through, got pulled up in parliament and the impending brewing PR disaster.

Next up: Kier Starmer is backing blasphemy laws. Lets see what happens with that potato. We have to watch these fuckers like hawks.

Visited the museum last week, they had a case of pre-historic stuff. I laughed at it, saying, "I've got a better one at home"

Sent them some pictures, they want it in their collection now.

My Granddad dug it up in the 90s

Stone Age axe head, polished, which means it wasn't just a throwaway item, so from the transition from a nomadic society to a settled one, with time on their hands. Dug up by my Granddad on his allotment.

Thanks, so my first guess, I should work in a museum. Did he try and dig up the whole allotment looking for others? Do you have to disclose where you dig up historical items so "they" can go issue an order and dig the land up looking for more, oh and hiring Tony Robinson/Time Team?

It's lived in my kitchen drawer for 15+ years and there is a house on his allotment, we sold it years ago.

That may have been your first guess, but you were hoping for the third one.

Don't even know why they call it poundland anymore, the mrs buys binbags in there when she's in town, barely anything in there cost £1 lol, which was the original point of the shop.
It's called Dealz in Ireland to avoid that problem.

I popped into B&M the other day, and honestly it's no cheaper than Tesco, they just have rare stuff like scampi fries.

DEI working well at Auntie I see:

Managers who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) earn salaries 15.6 per cent larger than those who are not.

Senior managers from black, Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds (Bame) earn a median average 12.6 per cent more than white ones

DEI. Ensuring everybody gets to be discriminated against.

I see you are linking something from the Torygraph, I guess as long as it supports your view.

Are you calling 'comrade scouse' a Tory now? 99% of my news links are from the Guardian. But I saw this as it was posted on the Beeb's "front pages" thing. I guess the question is:

Are you more outraged at the source of the story, or whether the Beeb is paying ethnic minority, gay and female candidates significantly more than white men?

Not commenting on whether it is true or not, but the Telegraph is one of the least reliable sources around.

Where do you think the Torygraph got it's figures from?

Yes, that's right. The beeb. And it's very specific - 15.6% for LBGT & 12.6% for not-white.

Could you both please list the acceptable news sources we're now allowed to post from. It always used to be the daily fail was the only prohibited. But it appears that over the years you guys have added to that and not told anyone.

Well, "over the years" the likes of the Torygraph have been bought by wronguns like these cunts.

I can't think of a single "old-world" Newspaper that can be trusted.

Like I said, no comment on the story, just the rag that it has come from.

As usual, you seem selective in your memory, like you are on most subjects when it comes to what others have said and you've, I've called you and always considered you a champagne socialist not that it is relevant to what I said any way.

If that's the case - there's zero 'trusted' news sources any more.

I think the 15.6% and 12.6% figures - that they'll have pulled from the beeb - that's specific enough.

But the real thing going on here is that Embattle doesn't like the idea, so he has a pop at the source, or the man, or pretty much anything other than the topic (as per usual).

How about this, different topic, from the grauniad:

Could it be that, oh I don't know, boys are naturally better than girls at maths? But that boys are still being shafted by the educational system but their natural STEM performance means they still shine in those subjects?
