Taken from my observatory.
The M3 globular cluster.
about half a million stars clustered together about 36,000 light years away. B4710AC1-6CBF-4154-B093-2DE29827E4E8.jpeg

Awesome @Urgat.

Where've you been old bean?

Honestly, just decided to take a break from forums and what not for a while.

Got a diagnosis for my Autism, worked on my mental health for a bit.

And then real life happened…. Dad passed from aggressive bowel cancer, (from fit as a fiddle to in 6 weeks, at 60 years old).

And it destroyed me.

just coming out the other side. Moved house and built an observatory, started flying lessons.

life is too short.

etc etc.3451BF6F-3ACA-4665-B442-C282272A8B1A.jpegBF372DC5-91B1-48E7-8DA5-B13A7E58EC3D.jpeg

It's not hard to believe there are more guns than people in America when you see family collections like this...

The most surprising thing about that photo (given how risk averse yanks are) is that they didn't put a cycle helmet on that girl.

A shitty old boiler that's never been serviced should still be fine - they have multiple redundancies to prevent things like this. But old copper pipes snaking around beneath floors? And old gas fires that have been disconnected? That's a different matter.

I found this beneath my floor earlier this year. Old gas pipe for the front room fireplace. I'd had it disconnected and capped in the room above 20 years ago, but it was probably installed 40-50 years ago. You can see verdigris where the pipe touches the joist. Who knows when that corrosion (from the wood's moisture content) might have created a pinhole leak?

My neighbour's house had a gas lamp fitting in the bathroom. Sometimes things like this just get left alone as "it'll be reet".

Benefits of not having kids number 561.

Weather is nice, just decided that I am off camping tomorrow, back Sunday.

Just watching Emma Mechano in the tennis, wish I was a ballboy.

That's fucked up. I bet he's given them each names

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman : How many counts in that movement you just executed?
Private Gomer Pyle : [hard and firm tone] Sir! Four counts, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman : What's the idea of looking down in the chamber?
Private Gomer Pyle : Sir! That is to guarantee that the private is not giving the inspecting officer a loaded weapon, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman : What's your fifth general order?
Private Gomer Pyle : Sir! The private's fifth general order is to quit my post only when properly relieved, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman : What's this weapon's name, Private Pyle?
Private Gomer Pyle : Sir! The private's weapon's name is Charlene, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman : Private Pyle, you are definitely born again hard! Hell, I may even allow you to serve as a rifleman in my beloved Corps.
Private Gomer Pyle : Sir! Yes, sir!

Was on Amazon earlier looking at winter socks (yes, I know its July)
One of the questions someone had posted was:
"Can they go in the microwave"

:ROFLMAO:

LMAO

(Opinion is divided on the question of microwaving socks. Some people consider it a fire hazard, and just use their microwave ovens for food. Others are waiting for their insurance companies to pay out)
