I don't get this.

Oxfam workers used prostitutes in Haiti. They were sacked or allowed to resign. Job jobbed - that seems sensible and proportionate. Now there's a review over pulling millions in funding and Oxfam is in deep deep poo poo.

Do you think these eight people are pulling their weight behind the scenes to make life difficult for a charity that's making awkward accusations?

No. I don't frankly. a. They don't need to as we're living in an era of hysteria and faux-morality, no behind-the-scenes skulduggery necessary, and b. at least half of that list are throwing their money at those selfsame world's poorest at an impressive rate, so I doubt they're worried too much about negative press from Oxfam.

NB. As I've always said when these "x people own half the world" stats pop up, what's the historical context? For all I know that could be a good stat when compared to the last 3000 years. I have no frame of reference.

Is it legal to murder someone if they want to go somewhere where it's so cold you have to snap your piss off if you have a wee outside..?

The Mrs wants us to go to Copenhagen next month. I've been there before in February. It was bloody cold.

I think its ok, it comes under the 'using excessive force for self preservation' rule

Tbh as long as they were not supposed to be doing oxfamy stuff at the time and they didnt pay for it with oxfams money then i dont see the issue. As long as they didnt force the women against their will.

Sex work is a legitimate industry except when people at trafficd etc

The Chinese are certainly putting on a show, OK its just for PR , but thats going to be lovely.
Why do you think it's just for PR?

This sort of city design has been talked about for ages. The health (both physical and mental), environmental, air quality etc, benefits of plant life has been known about for a long time. Makes perfect sense.

The Chinese are uniquely positioned to make these sorts of cities, to experiment.

Get some fucking chest hair and come visit, you old fart. February can be very nice, although at the moment it is snowing.. March is usually decent

I've stayed in a couple of hotels with this gimmick; one in Singapore that for the life of me I can't remember the name of (not the Marina Bay, that wasn't built at the time) and the Adelphi in Melbourne.

Still trying to justify your laziness-enabling purchase then.
Yep. Lots of people with no trail ettiquette and low skills are going to be churning up the trails (as the bikes are much heavier) and putting themselves (and others) in danger.

But hey ho.

MTBers are having a hard time campaigning for shared use on existing trails. There are a number of advocacy projects which promote dialogue between different user groups and landowners which urge responsible use and access for all.

You get a bunch of chavs on their chav wagons (as you called them) tearing things up and not observing responsible and considerate etiquette then that makes that task so much harder.

I don't own any land. I'm for responsible shared use by all. By your own admission e-MTB's are hugely attractive to a group of people who won't take responsibility - and it's going to be to the detriment of people who do.

Actually I was obviously far too subtlely comparing it to xenophobia.

Am I the only one whose biggest ambition is to be able to sit on my arse without being fucking disturbed for as long as is humanly possible?
