Virgin Trains halts Daily Mail sales

I know the daily mail isnt exactly top of everyones reading list but should a train company dictate whats available if its a legal publication?

Verging on censorship etc.

They also want to make money, if they believe they can more more money by not selling daily mail than they do from selling it (and by sounds of it it does not seem to be a big seller for them anyway), they are not banning the daily mail on their trains, if a customer buys it somewhere else and bring it on board no one will give a toss

I do have a question...you can back up your bitcoins on any drive..so presumably when you sell them, the key is deleted..whatever and all your copies become useless..so how do you kniw someone hasnt got hold of a copy ...sold it and you are holding dead bitcoins.
You only need to backup your private key. A string of 12 words. You can do that on paper and stick it in your drawer, or you can stick it in an encrypted file on one-drive or somesuch.

Nobody can steal your bitcoins. They're all on the blockchain. As long as you can keep *one* thing safe - your private key - then nobody can steal them.

Which is easier said than done. Besides. No one is buying bitcoin now. All the speculation is going in Ripple and the like

You actually invested yourself, or you read that somewhere?

Ripple is being supported by some major corporations...
You don't need to tell me that. I've got a fair wadge of ripple.

I was asking Moriath if he was actually invested - if he had a chip in the game and therefore an actual interest - or whether he was just regurgitating stuff he's read.

Been reading about it to decide if i can be bothered or not. Thing that keeps me out is the wallet thing. If only that was more secure. And if i could do it on my ipad then i prob would. Havent looked at wallets on ipad. I dabbled with mining ripple but a 970 doesnt cut it.

Whats the problem. You have to vet everyone who has an opinion now?

Hardly censorship. One company choosing not to retail a particular product. By your logic they should stock every newspaper, magazine, periodical, etc. I assume?

Lots of people speak out of fear of something without having experience of it.

I get it. But it's misplaced.
I dont fear it. I think that wallets are not as secure as putting money in a bank. For example. Its a monetry investment and forgetting the password could mean you lose everything.

Its a risky investment anyway as i am sure you will know. So i am researching into the best way to do things first. And i read about ripple being backed by big players. So whats the problem with me saying that without you saying please show me your credentials.

Take it or leave it. Its a forum. I am not a financial advisor.

You mean, why should a company reserve the right to choose what it sells?

This has nothing to do with censorship.
Oh palease...its everything to do with Bransons political views , which are based on him wanting to always be the good guy...fucking shite trains ...accused of buying into the NHS.
Branson public relations team....quick do something progressive and leak it to the press.

What I don't like about this whole bitcoin thing is that just as people are striving to save energy, making things more efficient, reducing damage to the environment etc, we appear to have come up with a novel way of negating that. While a few people do it now, what if loads of people did it? Personal wealth generation at the cost of the environment.

You clearly do not understand what censorship actually is. But that's no surprise, you don't really understand much of anything.

It's not censorship, it's just Virgin turning a commercial decision of dropping a low selling product line into some political grandstanding they expect a round of applause for.

I think it's because at the end of the day, no one really cares.

How did the tyres last 8 hours, i'm assuming the wet track helped?

I'm assuming that, and maybe a harder compound of tyre from Michelin/Continental/whoever.

Apparently the record does allow for fuel stops as well - they did mid drift refuelling, just because they could. Bit like using a flame thrower to defrost sausages.
