Since James Bond is a changing actor role, then yes, you can do it, it's fine - so long as you don't cast James Bond as a white man, get a black man to play him then spray him white.

I think Elba would work pretty well at the role - never read the books to see how "white"Bond was originally, but I wouldn't have an issue. A female Bond wouldn't work in the slightest however.
