Going back to the Ethereum discussion in the nerdy awesome shit thread...

Teh future!

I'm keeping an eye on this, please continue to share stuff :).

I've recently just got my Monzo card as I want to try a lightweight, tech-savvy bank at the pinnacle of IT underpinnings. I see some vague parallels with this Ethereum stuff.

Im sure if the parents self funded treatment they could do what they wished. Buut they are relying on the nhs which would have to pay for the care and transport.

This is getting more concerning everytime.
Doctors say just turn off the machine, but no you cant go abroad for experimental treatment?

Parents of terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard lose Supreme Court case
So they've appealed to the European Court of Human Rights.

Good on them. Personally, I agree with the decision of the courts (who found the doctor's arguments more compelling and more in the interests of the child) - but it's nice to know that they've got a highest arbiter eh?

I would normally agree, but after blocking that kids proton treatment on Poland on the grounds it wouldnt work and they should let him die...then getting the parents arrested for going anyway and it did work.
So no I dont value the doctors argument as much as the parents appeal for a chance.

There's one big difference between the two cases; you can't fix brain damage. Even if this experimental treatment can fix the disease, the poor little thing is going to be severely disabled.

Interests of the child...yeah, that will be switching the life support off then...

A better explanation of how blockchains work and what mining is...

Teh future!

Just to add to what @Big G said, please keep posting things like this. I am now mining Eth on my main PC as it is left on 24hrs a day anyway. Am also thinking of putting a card in my NAS considering that thing is also running 24x7.

Had a sword under the stairs that I found when my Grandad died. Always assumed it was some sort of costume piece.

Turns out its Model 1816 French artillery short sword - Wikipedia

Which is nice.

Fits with the British 1800s cavalry sword I have too I suppose. Going to see if I can find out where they both came from, ma thinks its some ancestor that fought in the Napoleonic war.
