Thank you!!
To be fair, that could equally mean that she's happy when talking to him...

Arguments against Trump have to be more substantive than out of context supposition... This sort of shit plays into his tiny hands...

There's nothing else in the world of sport quite like a 5-set Federer/Nadal final. What a legend Roger is.

same with curved screens to be honest, at least large ones for the living room. Waste of time. Not bad for single screen computing/gaming though.

I have a 3d capable TV and a 3d capable Blu-ray player. In the two and a half years I've owned them I've watched just Gravity and Avatar in 3d. It didn't give me a headache or eye strain, but the glasses were a bit uncomfortable with my normal glasses. The effect was OK, but I wasn't bothered overall but I've never tried again since.

I guess VR is taking over from 3D, I had 3D on my projector setup, it was awesome at best, but just too immersive and gimmicky for most people...they just like a nice story and gentle imagery.

I like the best screen possible. 3d is not too immersive with those hunks of plastic sat on yr face

If 3d is "too immersive" then what's VR?
Well, cos back in my flat the screen is about 16ft diagonal and you sit 12ft from it...so it was practically VR.
Short throw projector needed.

I think the biggest problems with 3D are the requirement to wear special glasses, which from my friends' view is especially bad if you need to wear prescription glasses all of the time, and the fact that almost all of the films released in 3D were post production 3D. I think the tendency to use post production was the biggest problem, as you just don't get the same effect as you get from filming in 3D. The 3D effect on Avatar was pretty impressive, but all of the film studios completely failed to re-capture that, instead going for the cheap route and counting on the public throwing money at it anyway, in the hope another could reach that same level. Eventually, less and less people were willing to chance it, having seen too many films where the 3D was so poor it made no difference at best, or could even make it worse in many cases.
The only way, IMO, for 3D to make a comeback is if filming in 3D takes off, and the glasses can go.

Does it get trippy when you watch cam quality films on your projector and someone gets up for a piss irl and on the copy?

3D failed because it was shit and an expensive/cumbersome gimmick. In a fair amount of cases it actually made the whole watching a film experience worse.

My old Samsung 3D TV cost exactly $0 more then the equivalent version without 3D

3D at the cinema's was a different story though. The 3D projector they had in my hometown in Sweden was ok-ish at best, the one I've seen here in the US was awesome (IMAX 3D). I haven't seen all that many movies in 3D, but I have yet to see one where I felt it was worse.

Not surprised for a second to see 3D (for the home market at least) go away. VR will either explode (probably not) or go away in 5-10 years.

The trouble with VR is the chicken and the egg circle. Its too expensive and has very limited software, which makes it difficult to justify buying into it and there isn't the user base to encourage development.
