Who gives a fuck if it's "well intentioned" - laws must be *exact* or they are wide open to abuse and horribly dangerous.

Like councils using so-called anti-terrorism legislation to spy on people who sometimes don't pick up their dog's shit.

I don't think that's possible. Laws are almost always open to interpretation. For instance, judges routinely do not send knife offenders to prison, despite the law making such sentences mandatory.

It's certainly more achieveable than what we have at the moment.

An awful lot of our recent legislation has been a shower of shit, we all know it, it's being routinely abused and yet it remains on the statute books.

Side effect of English Law; you need cases to set precedent before you can define the limits of a particular law. I agree that even the intention behind a lot of recent legislation is garbage, but irrespective of that, you'll get what seem like frivolous, or weird, or counter-productive cases that make the law look ridiculous, even if its a law that does have good intentions.

It came home to me years ago when I got done for no insurance..changed the policy to add the girlfriend...didnt read the small print, they removed driving other cars.
So got done driving my mates car.

So I'm looking up Jenny Powell, the TV presenter who was discovered on Johnathon Kings talent show, so this rather unsavoury fact has been erased from the net.
Got interested in his life and eventual conviction for kiddie fiddling, he was a huge deal in the music industry, complete oddball, but very successful and clever man and behind a lot of big bands like 10cc.
He had a lot to say about pedos in the industry and to this day swears that David Bowie was as bad as Jimmy Saville..he has presented no hard evidence, but you can bet he knew what went on.

He made the claims on his Kingofhits website, that was closed some time ago and all record of it is hard to find.
Considering how big this guy was in the industry, someone has been deleting him off the net, for obvious reasons, but still.
