Yesterday I paid a load of money for this:



It was supposed to be a superb French sausage, in a very nice restaurant in Rennes. It looked amazing, until I cut into it to discover that it contained its own lower intestine, into which had been stuffed various herbs and things. Seriously, a big chewy piece of herb-infused intestine inside....a piece of intestine. It was minging and I ate bits of my mates' steaks instead. The Serrano ham starter I had was fantastic though, as was the pineapple and vanilla ice cream pudding.

I can never "get" French cuisine. Sometimes it's awesome, but all too often you buy something that should be delicious that actually tastes...meh.
