Meh, never found Craig Ferguson particularly funny either, so Americans'll probably love him. The only thing James Corden's ever done that I liked was the Comic Relief thing with George Michael, but that was probably as much about Michael taking the piss out of himself as anything Corden did.

In my opinion you can't really compare a show that the audience pay for to see and a long time running talk show for a mass audience. In a stand up routine the audience will for the most part already have heard of the act and/or seen him before. On a TV late night show you will for the most part have an audience who are not familiar with you. This is of course as a lesser known host.

Personally i like Craig Ferguson in small doses, i can watch a few youtube clips here and there with a few months apart and still think it's funny, but it is not something i would watch every day... or even once or twice a week.

As for Corden... i have no clue who he is... guess will find out though youtube in a few months

Also... why the fuck is there like 8 billion late night talk shows!? It's just 5 minutes stand up, 20 minutes celebrity gossip and/or plugging a new movie/album and 5 minutes silly shit and/or a music act... If you crave the gossip - watch E! and if you want good stand up - go to a show! Or rent a dvd
