A lot more than you think. Remember there's much more to Google+ than people updating a status saying "Just made the best cheese sandwich ever - best weekend, with best friends and the best cheese. My cheese life is so awesome", or fuzzy photos of gigs and / or a picture of a glass of wine in the sun saying "MY LIFE IS EPIC, I DRINK ALCOHOL KK?".

Ok...he grabbed a toy mike and mimiced the bands by himself in front of the outside main stage..everytime there was a guitar solo he did his own and was running up to people and offering his imiganery guitar for them to play..then he appeared in every pub like the one we were in encouraging the crowd to join in the songs..everyone ended up chanting his name and he responded with 'who am i!'

The thing with Google+ is that it has infested everything from Youtube to the android store. I don't think anyone uses the social functions as such, just when they are forced to use it for simple tasks.

But yeah, Facebook is dying because it is generally a waste of time. People would much rather post every detail of their mundane lives on twitter instead.

Basically anyone using youtube has a G+ these days. It's forced upon us, but it's also a very optional(yeah i know) social media in a sense that you don't use it just to be social and it's just hanging in the background ready to be used. Kinda like chats etc on steam/bnet.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. G+ membership is distorted because basically google has effectively bribed companies into supporting G+ by quietly improving your quality score if you have a page, and even more if you use their social login (which, to be fair, is less flaky than Facebook connect.) it doesn't mean people are actually using G+ though; our engagement stats are pitiful compared to Facebook or Twitter, and most people are in the same boat; lots of "members" but no one actually doing anything.

That's the point that Raven and myself have both made: their social network is not a direct use per sé, such as an "awesome cheese sandwich" Facebook affair, but rather an insidious use via other social services. Maybe that's the way to go?
