Ileks, because it sets a precedent and the insurance companies are offering a carrot on a stick now with lower fees to get people comfortable with the idea. You can get 10 month policies without a black box too.
I really can't stand mine, and I can't believe you've argued against dagaffer on stats and facts without checking any of them. The UK insurance industry are money grabbing wankers.
I've not argued "on stats and facts", I've just said that a low accident rate doesn't necessarily mean a low insurance rate for obvious reasons.
What's this carrot on a stick bollocks? You think they are offering such savings as some sort of trick to lure the masses onto these things? No, they're offering savings because like it or not, these boxes allow them to make more accurate predictions. The very fact that most people hate the fucking things suggests there will always be insurers offering cover without them. You might have to pay more (or more accurately, the same amount you'd pay now on a normal policy), but that's fair enough right?
If the government makes them mandatory, then that's obviously bollocks.
