What media player are you lot using these days? Winamp doesn't seem to be as fast any more and I'm constantly getting 'script errors' with it lately.

If you just want a basic music player that will handle any audio format you can throw at it, like Winamp did before it went all bloatware, then try foobar 2000. The UI is pretty simple but can't be customized to personal preference very easily. It also has some useful optional plugins, I'd recommend the one for WASAPI support.

Winamp got away from AOL actually but no doubt it will take time for a new version to arrive

The latest version of winamp is flawless, from my pov. You just dont install all the shit and revert back to the standard player+playlist view. It looks like it did in 2000. I still use the classic skin :D

Can't fault Winamp when it's installed with as little superfluous shit as possible. The core of the program is still the best around as far as I'm concerned - the media library and everything just make it all so easy.

I always found winamp quite handy with the playlist, so easy to find things you want to listen to

Lately I've been trying vlc with just the windows folder, but I still think winamp takes the biscuit.

Didn't winamp recently say they're going to shutdown?
yes, they DID shut down last year. The software still works, plays pretty much any format you want (inc FLAC) and doesnt need any phoning home bullshit like most modern fucking software to work.
