Nothing so exciting; a BA plane made a safe emergency landing and everybody was evacuated.

(ofc this may well have been quite exciting for those on board the plane)

Quite exciting - I heard a bird strike took out one engine and the second one was on fire - can see the smoke in pics of it - narrow escape...

they should just purge Luton with a giant napalm, nothing but pure evil there.

It's depressing to see tbh - its only a few miles from where I live but its been known for decades that its a hotbed of extremism and it has that whole segregation thing going on - what a mess :(

Aye, its quite sad to see really that the government allows them to walk around preaching such bollocks. Walking around protesting wars is one thing but walking around clearly spitting venomous shit out is another.... I'm all for freedom of speech and protesting wars that you don't agree with but not in that manner.

Laws need to change

Just glad I live in the northeast, not really any Islamic communities up here (there will be some but not on a London scale) - fuck loads of EDL members live up here, prob why ><

Edit: sorry I realize I've just generalized Islam there, I mean there aren't really any Islamic Extremist communities up here.

Price you pay for a free society. In a way its better that people can see this shit for themselves. The thing that actually depresses me most, as always with Islam, is the women. Do they really believe what they're saying?

The women are probably the most depressing thing to see yes, they go on about not being oppressed by western people yet they are being oppressed by their husbands and religion, its kind of a broken logic really, the very fact that most extremist husbands will demand they wear a burka/not wear makeup etc is in effect oppressing them.

They probably do it out of fear more than anything else

Nobody would miss Luton if it was replaced by a massive crater in the ground.

not much of an issue when the plane is coming into land. birds in the engine is obviously dangerous, but its only going to happen under the clouds, so the plane is still fairly low. When coming into land, a big plane like that will have its thrusters a long time ago, so its not a huge issue. The only issue is obviously if the fire explodes.

It had only just taken off from Heathrow though with a full tank of aviation fuel - it had to do a big circle over london on one burning engine and then an emergency landing back where it started - it could have been a terrible disaster.

oh right i thought it was coming into land. you can cut the fuel to the burning wing and fly a fair few miles though on a single engine.

Isn't the fuel in the wing? Or have we moved on from WW2 planes!?

The only engine working was the burning one - the other was taken out by bird strike - it was literally flying over london supported only by one burning engine with flames lapping the wings which were full of fuel...

Apart from the those that believe that it's right that they do so, because they've been brought up since they were very young to think that way, of course.

A lot of muslim women protested in France because the french tried to ban the burka and they want to wear it...

I want to wear a pink lace dress and a thong that goes right up the crack of my arse, you don't see me protesting for it do you? burka is not a requirement in the Qur'an, its simply fashion, thus they have no real grounds to protest it other than "I want to wear this because of how it looks":p

They certainly can, so long as they don't try and push it on to others. Then they can wear what they like while pissing up a rope.

...so long as they accept they need to reveal their faces to infidels from time to time to identify who the fuck they are.

I am for freedom, just not when its a blatant security risk. Why do you defend such silly things Scouse? its almost as if you disagree with people not because of the subject but because you enjoy having a good old rant over things.

You counter these reasons why it should be banned and I'll shut my gob - if you can't counter them then you shut your gob on the matter, deal?

1. People can hide things under them - weapons, explosives, other illegal objects
2. People can use them to hide their identity - by this I mean criminals, its done on a regular basis
3. It covers up physical abuse of the person wearing it, how do you know woman walking past you with a burka on arent being brutally beaten daily?

These are all good reasons why all women should be banned from wearing any clothes :p

I just took it to a logical conclusion :)

All clothing conceals stuff - by Muslim tradition (from the supporting texts that interpret and add to the Quran) women are meant to cover up once they reach puberty except in private/with their family. The main area of dispute is how much cover is required.
