You've obviously never been to the Mary Rose museum. The Swedes weren't the only people who made ships with dubious sailing characteristics. (And to be fair, Sweden at the time of the Vasa was quite the nation of badasses, with a king who was running around Europe giving Catholics a good kicking wherever he went, whereas we were about to give our useless king an extreme head-ectomy).

The Mary Rose didn't have dubious sailing characteristics, she just had a shit crew.

The general consensus among historians is that the ship had been so heavily modified as to make it unseaworthy. There is a theory about insubordination, (but even then the view is the crew were kicking off because they knew the ship was an accident waiting to happen), but its the minority view.

Haven't yet seen the Mary Rose. I could give you a guided tour of the Victory with my eyes closed. But I love the Vasa museum.

Stood waiting at a cross-road today, was amazing, this Audi guy turned a corner, didn't indicate, was going 5mph, guy nearly reared into him, oh, and he was on his phone, he then carried on rolling down the road, didn't indicate, went down a side street, car behind, nearly, again, went into the back of him, he then went back on himself, not indicating onto the road, then didn't indicate, but turned up the same road he came down, I swear to god, there should be coppers only on commission, i'd make a killing.

It was a top heavy piece of crap - because the egotistical king wanted it bigger and with more guns.

He completely screwed it as a ship such that it was pretty much ready to fall over if someone sneezed.

There were two off duty London Underground staff in the carriage who did nothing. Transport for London have defended them.

Indeed. His "defence" was the reason he didn't help was because he had two small children.

TBH I expect nothing more from London Underground staff. Some of them are the most unhelpful, grumpy, laziest, unfriendly, unhappiest, unmotivated staff I've ever encountered. Tesco staff are not too far behind them. Followed by the idiots who work in places like Dixons & PC World.

If you want to see how customer service should be done here, pop into John Lewis or Waitrose. 10/10 for the staff there.

It shouldn't matter. Yes he could be some pissed businessman. Or it could be a man's last 10 minutes on Earth unless he can get an insulin shot. I can't be the only person on the planet who thinks that its not OK for people to step over an unconscious man lying in the middle of the train carriage. What kind of people have we become?

It's pretty common in Holland aswell though. A girl collapsed in the line behind me at the MC Donnalds years ago. while nobody else responded i called out for someone to call an ambulance. The guy at the counter did nothing, so I approached him and asked him if he whas gonne do something. Poured a glass of water and gave it too me. (Turned out the girl hade a little too much green Dutch grass).

Also on return from work a group of around 10 youngsters (15ish?) entered the metro. Started yelling at a lonely guy and even gave him a kick to his legs (where up on the bench). Turned out the guy wasnt dutch after all, as he responded in English (American). Long story and it didnt make any sense, but a station further they all left (in a hurry). A metro full of grownups didnt do a thing.

House of Commons Fridge Thief Strikes

Thursday 15th November 2012
A Labour MP has got into a row with a secret fridge thief in the House of Commons offices.
Liz Kendall, MP for Leicester West, was furious when her tuna salad was nicked from a Portcullis House fridge. She left an angry letter about it, only to be stunned to find the culprit left a post-it note saying: "I took it... and I'd do it again".
