Yeah, he got caught in a current that pushed him down and he panicked (sudden currents can either be exhilarating or terrifying). Bad divecraft tbh; no obvious dive buddy which is a big no-no especially if as it said in the commentary, he was an inexperienced diver (even if you are experienced you should buddy up as a rule). Interesting to find out if he got the bends or not.
